Loved our overnight stay in an upgraded room with fantastic views of the church opposite and lake in the distance. Immaculately clean and tastefully furnished room with a nice balcony to take in the views. The restaurant offers good choices and we enjoyed lovely quality meals. The breakfast buffet was also very good. Parking was at the front of the hotel.

The property was central, the staff were lovely, it was clean. It would have been brilliant in its heyday, but is now rather tired looking.
We loved that our room looked out over gushing water, great sound.
This apartment hotel is located in the heart of the Peneda Geres National Park in Costa Verde. It offers self-catering accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool and an à la carte restaurant.

It was clean and felt bigger than on the pictures.
Even though a bit far from the accommodation, the pool was great.
The hotel parking is an extra but a good deal.

Localisation, big rooms and quality price relation
We came on the bus from Braga. Actually, there was a one-day strike and we took a taxi. We took the bus back. The bus runs infrequently and you have to buy the ticket on the bus. Once in Geres, if you don't have a car, you can find out about the trails from the tourist info center so you can get into the park. We also opted for a 4 hr tour with Carlos at Lobos Tours and it was worth the $40 to see all the parts of the park and some of the small villages and the waterfalls. He was born and raised there and has alot of knowledge of the area. One bummer of the visit was the Parque de Termas is only open intermittently and was closed when we were there. Apparently this is a problem. If you want a hot spring dip, you need to go to the Spanish border. Not far away, but need transport. It is a nice village overall.

Geres is a unique place where you can see nature in its best, there are so many attractions even on low-session, and plenty of native restaurants along all routes, i have been there for 5/6 years in a row and I am still impressed with the place as you can see my own photographs attached. Rio Caldo on the lower edge of the park is stunning.
Rio Caldo on the lower edge of the park is stunning. Views are amazing. There are plenty of bars and cafes, and a small well stocked supermarket. It has a good public transport network. We hired a kayak twice during our stay with AML.

Don't try to go to Geres for a long weekend, it's not enough time but if that's all you have, then don't miss it! Amazing hiking and quaint villages all around. We chased waterfalls for 3 days and loved it.
The Sao Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary was so unique and loved the juxtaposition of the old and new churches. Stunning tiles in the new museum.
We also had a quick stop at the Vilarinho das Furnas dam. We love dams but still cool to see. A short easy walk from the dam is a cute waterfall and a perfect spot for a picnic.
Keep your eyes peeled for wild horses and shepherds with their cows and goats.
The town of Geres itself is small but I really enjoyed a quick stroll around town and found some great artisan shops to get souvenirs.

We had a fantastic time in Geres.
We had a fantastic time in Geres. The staff at Baltazar Hotel were extremely helpful and kind- especially Orlando. We had a challenging and beautiful hike and spent one afternoon with a guide who showed us so much of the park. The food and generosity of the Baltazar staff was wonderful. We would come back for a longer stay next time and recommend to anyone.

Very nice picturesque location, beautiful lake at the bottom...
Very nice picturesque location, beautiful lake at the bottom of the surrounding mountains near the hotel. Hotel was very clean, and big. I was pleasantly surprised. Polite man at the reception when we got there, very attentive and prompt when requests were made. My only advise to anyone checking out in the early hours, e.g. around 03.30am is to allow extra time because there may not be anyone readily available as they will be carrying out other tasks (as the polite lady mentioned when the bell at reception wasnt attended to with the usual promptness). Other than that, extremely wonderful stay
Our twin room was extremely clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had a fantastic view of the Sanctuary and beyond (the double glazing muted the sound of the bell chimes to ensure a restful stay). All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurant is superb. 30mins walk from the hotel is Rio Caldo where there is a beach and lots of water sport activities, and a 15min drive gets you to Geres.
Highly recommend the jeep or kart tour of the National Park offered by Geres Emotion!!
The location is excellent with an amazing view, its a short walk into the main village of Gerês, which was perfect for me. The food at the hotel was good, traditional and with large portions it's great value for money plus with the local wine for 1.50€ you can't really go wrong. Catarina is the most helpful and hard working member of staff and I really appreciated the efforts she went to and made me feel welcome.
The room was very comfortable too and a good size. I would stay here again for sure.
This is a terrific property. Very clean and comfortable, great facilities and much bigger than it looks on the outside. Location is terrific, very close to views of the mountains and of the lake. It's also easy to access by car and has good local amenities - a little grocer 2 mins walk away and the restaurant at the Hotel Sau Bento offers good food at decent value a 5 minute walk away. It's an ideal spot for exploring the Geres-Peneda National Park.
Lovely location ideal for hiking or visiting close by lakes! The lady running the hotel is very kind and communicative. Althought she does not speak english, she managed to give us all the important info to have a good stay (here I'd recommend to learn at least few Portugese words/phrases like 'thank you', 'this', 'eggs', ... as it makes communication more clear for both sides). Also the breakfasts were fantastic!
Definitely would visit again.
Chalet Villas Geres is a lovely oasis near the Peneda Geres National Park. It is within any easy walk to the charming town of Geres and near the hiking trails of Peneday Geres. The pool is clean and absolutey beautiful, tucked under a huge Palm tree with the river nearby. Our villa was quiet and private. The hosts, Susana and Tomas were a delight, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
We loved the place, the restaurant n the warm welcome ✨ We definitely would like to stay at Pimpao next time! Family-owned business 5 mins from the village. Very hard-working crew, the first night we dined there and the restaurant was fully packed but we were very well treated ✨ Very friendly staff 🌟 😆 Thank u for making our visit to Geres so pleasant 🌺🌼🌻✨🌟💯 We highly recommend!!
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff members were incredibly friendly, the breakfast selection was impressive, with a variety of delicious options to choose from, including fresh fruits and local specialties. The hotel's location is truly remarkable, with a 2 minutes walk to the lake. The room had a very comfortable bed, with stunning views of the lake.
The staff was very friendly and effective. The hotel infrastructure is good as well as the overall quality. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable, all amenities as well.
We dined at the restaurant a couple of times and rely appreciated the foods quality as well as the service.
In general it has been a very good stay and it is definitely recommended.
Breakfast was delicious and there were many options as fresh fruit, different types of bread, muesli, yogurth, crossaints, cake, etc.
The hotel is located in the middle of Geres and you can reach it by bus which was great for us, because we didn´t have a car.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean.
The location in the middle of the compact Geres village was excellent, close to the bus stops, restaurants, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, all facilities worked with no problem, and my room even happened to have a nice view towards the hills.
we were a group of 8 friends visiting Peneda Geres and Cantinho Verde T3 was a great place to stay. We had plenty of room, the hosts were welcoming, and the fresh bread every morning delicious! it is away from the bustle in Geres, but with a market and restaurants nearby…. perfect for us.
Best place of all places we stayed during our roadtrip through Portugal! Super friendly hosting family, great spacious clean and comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast. Wonderful location in between the mountains. Great beds and clean swimming pool. Very much recommended!!
Beautiful views and lots of space. The patio was perfect and had a basketball court. The host (Pedro) was so kind and helpful with suggestions and quick to respond.
Staff is welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a beautiful breakfast room with a view and breakfast itself was good. Beds were comfortable and the room quiet
Located very close to Geres and the hiking trails, good breakfast, friendly staff, room was very clean and comfortable, there was even a mini fridge in it.
