Absolutely fantastic location in the Parque Terra Nostra. As guests of the hotel you have access to the park and the thermal pool 24/7. Whilst it doesn't look very inviting, the thermal pool is a must/highlight. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good. We did not use the Spa or indoor pool so cannot comment. Parking is available at the front of the hotel (make sure you drive through the first barrier you arrive at). Is it expensive to stay here - yes! Is it worth it - definitely! Our favourite hotel during our trip to San Miguel. Highly recommended!

Wonderful house in the fantastic Furnas! It's a very traditional house with a soul and very tranquile athmosphere. It is situated very close to Pocas da d.Beija hot springs - which is my favorite place in Furnas.
We had very nice time there and already dreaming to come back one day!

Everything ! This place is perfect and has everything you need. Well equipped (even a wash machine which is really nice when you are visiting the islands for 2 weeks like us!) and also well located (parque terra nostra is just next to the building !). Furnas is a nice little town.
Furnas is a nice little town. We enjoyed the Poca de Dona Beija hot spring baths (you have to book online in advance), and the Grena gardens behind Lake Furnas were a wonderful surprise (more interesting than Terra Nostra gardens in my opinion).

This is an amazing area if you are looking for the trails of any difficulty with clean air and breathtaking views. People are friendly and everything is within walking distance. A 15 min drive to the main highway will get you within 40 min of any place on the island.

We really liked the Caldieras in town, and tasting the water and the corn on the cob. We liked the Cozido Stew, we had enough left over to eat it the next night. We liked the Grena National Parc and very interesting to see the restaurants uncover their stew.

Wonderful place to stay in Furnas!
Wonderful place to stay in Furnas! It is quiet, but 5 minute walk to everything. Below is our itinerary for the three days we stayed here:
Tuesday, July 4th
Day- Lagao de Fogo was slammed and required a shuttle (no cars after 9:00) so secret waterfalls, beach at Praia de Fogo and Lagoa de Furnas
Evening- Dinner at Mirando (Civado Stew is delicious and pudding/chorizo)
Wednesday, July 5th
Monring- early breakfast and hike Salto de Prego
Day- road trip to Nordeste, beaches, miraduros, hike, tea Plantation Gorreana
Evening- hot pools at Breija and A Quinta outside for dinner
Thursday, July 6th
Morning- hike waterfalls at Gena (go before 9:30 so not crowded)
Day- Lunch and hot pools at Terra Nostra Hotel and Gardens
Dinner- Tea at Chalet Tia Merces, sunset at Mirador Pico de Ferras (amazing)

Beautiful destination full with bubbling hot waters, "...
Beautiful destination full with bubbling hot waters, "jurastic" parks, hot thermal baths and potable springs. Do not miss to see how the Cozido is cooked on the hot waters and to taste it at Miroma restaurant or Tony's. From here, go to the free of charge park with nice waterfalls Jardim Botânico da Ribeira do Guilherme. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, definitely make a reservation to Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha and visit the Gorreana tea plantation if you like.
Location was perfect for the hot springs in Furnas, with lots of restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance, and easy road access to the rest of the island by car. The breakfast was simple, but very fresh and well presented. The kitchen area in the Pod provided easy cooking the days we didn't feel like eating out, and had coffee pod machine.
Really nice appartement to stay in Furnas. It has everything you need, clean and comfortable. Cute balcony! Checkin went smooth. Caldeiras, thermal pools, parks and restaurants at walking distance! Highly recommended.

Beautifully kept hotel. Loved the style. 24hr access to the thermal pools in the Terra Nostra gardens was a real bonus. Great location for exploring the east of Sao Miguel island.
