This was one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a river view room which provided a spectacular view of the Duro. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony The staff was very friendly and helpful Patricia and Rafela made great suggestions for touring Quintas and even made reservations for us at these places. Paulo gave great recommendations for dinner and was very helpful Parking was on the property and free. The breakfast had many choices and tables provided a view of the river We would definitely stay here again

It was out of season and the hotel was extremely quiet. It was just a one night stopover and the weather was appalling.
Staff were very helpful and breakfast just as we ordered.

The road to Covelinhas might be a bit of a challenge (6 km of winding, (very) narrow mountain road, starting at the Bagaúste dam), but scenery and overall ambiance more than make up for it. The road leading to Galafura (5 equally challenging km) arguably provides the best views over the valley.
