It is a charming, small village, famous of stripped houses...
It is a charming, small village, famous of stripped houses of fishermen. Nowadays it is a good place for vacation on a beach or a good starting point to watch the nature of Ria, an estuary with birds and the nature. There are boat trips around the estuary. There are boardwalks along the ocean beach.
The 'Maurisqueira' restaurant serve delicious fish and seafood.
Aveiro is also close also with salina to visit and a passage on traditional moliseiro boat.
You may also visit a porcelain factory 'Vista Allegre' museum in the nearby Ilhavo, as well as buy some porcelain in their outlet (if you have enough luggage allowance :) - don't worry, they ship everywhere)
The house is very spacious and newly renovated. Very stylishly decorated. It's right in the center of Costa Nova among the beautiful painted houses. We were in the off season, so there weren't too many people around and it was a great time to relax. Beach is 2-3 streets over and great place for sunsets. Place had some local places brochures for restaurants which we tried and loved Bronze Seafood & Lounge Bar. Free parking was available in front of the house. I would highly recommend this place!
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable but there was no air conditioning in the room so had to leave window open at night. It wasn't extremely warm when I was there so it was OK. And the area is quiet. The bathroom was clean. There is no fridge in the room if you want to keep anything cool. The location is perfect. A very short walk to the beach and to the lagoon front also. Costa Nova itself is lovely and very relaxing place to go if you want to switch off.
We loved the apartment. It is located on a side street and a 5 min walk to the beach. The rooms were big and the beds very comfortable. It felt like we were visiting family. We could cook for ourselves just like at home. The owners were also very kind and helpful. They even had bikes for us to use. Kids were happy to play with the games. that they left in the apartment. It was our first time in Costa Nova and we look forward to many more stays.
Very clean and spacious room and use of communal areas. I had the room with the underwater scene - don’t be put off as the room was lovely and large and the bathroom is now en-suite. Would definitely stay again. Excellent communication and great staff and service.
Opposite there was a restaurant that always looked busy with locals otherwise need to walk to Costa Nova or Barra
The host is super welcoming and helpful. We were nicely greeted, enjoyed kayaking on the lagoon and biking to Costa Nova. The breakfast is delicious and the cabins are clean and confortable. This place has a really nice zen feeling. The huge beach is 5min walk and is empty, so much space and so quiet, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at Desertas. We hope to come back soon.
The Costa Nova house is perfection in a beautiful town! Marta has thought of every little detail and this property is absolutely fabulous! From the location, to the stunning design details of the home, we were treated to coffee and wine and even fresh cut flowers... beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to rest and relax after a lovely day of exploring.. an absolute treasure!
Probably the nicest and cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. The building felt brand new and the hey kept everything perfectly clean. It probably helped that there were very few people staying here at the time, but I was still very impressed.
Also very nice outdoor courtyard.
The private rooms looked wonderful as well, nicer than the average hotel.
A lovely place to stay on Costa Nova, close to the beaches, sand dunes, the sunset! It has a breakfast in the nearby Costa Nova Hotel that is solid. Room is big and with a view on the laguna (not the ocean or the sunset, thats on the west side).
Thick curtains block the sunrise, don't worry 🙂

It is a beautiful decorated small apartment. The bathroom was nice and the shower worked well, but we were happy there was another toilet downstairs. The location is great, close to all the coloured houses in Costa Nova, close to the beach and the lagoon. Aveiro isn’t far away, about 11 km, and nice to visit.
Simple and clean rooms with a small balcony. While the host did not speak much English he was very attentive to our questions and checked on us to see if we needed anything. Hotel is located in the center of this small beach town with the beach about 100 meters from the hotel and many restaurants nearby.
Great location, five minutes from the beach and the promenade. A couple of very good restaurants in front and behind the hotel. Room was basic but clean and cool in the heat. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It's a nice place would definitely recommend.
Right across the road from beautiful white sand dunes facing the ocean. Perfectly located between downtown Barra and the Costa Nova Marina. Lovely walk both ways along the dune-top boardwalk. Room well soundproofed from the road. Breakfast outstanding. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The room was larger that I expected. Breakfast was great except orange juice.
There was balcony to get fresh air and sit. Our room was not facing to the street like the picture of Costa Nova Hotel but it was nice.
