It was a beautiful and unique property at the top of a mountain with amazing views! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the balcony off the bedroom was stunning! We looked forward to having our breakfast there every morning. The area was very quiet and it was fun to explore and walk around the little alleys. A car is definitely needed though to get back down to the river area as well as the different wineries. There is also a little café, right around the corner, otherwise the top of the mountain is very quiet.
Located in Ervedosa do Douro, 18 miles from Douro Museum, Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta provides accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

Luxurious stay with phenomenal views of the Douro River and Valley. Breakfast with fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, yogurt, grains, juices, pastries, bread, coffee, tea was wonderful. The terraces permitted and encouraged relaxing and tranquil lounging. Rooms were clean, generally well-furnished, with spa-like bathrooms. The staff were particularly helpful with our day touring arrangements, making dinner reservations for us in Pinhao.

A big plus was the lady that looks after the accommodation who went out of her way to wash and dry our clothes for us in the 1 night we stayed at the property.
After being on the road for 3-4 days we needed washing done, and for only 10 euro's she was a godsend.
A beautiful place with an amazing view.
Just be careful getting there, the steep, narrow streets up to the accommodation are something to behold :l

This is a very special place.
This is a very special place. Having one night here is not enough. We recommend having your own groceries before arriving.
The town is slowly being upgraded in a sympathetic way supported by tourist income, but this is intrusive for locals. Roading and parking is a significant issue for this particular town. Do not follow the Google route up from Pinhau; but the route that Mariana offers. She is incredibly supportive and communicates well.

Casa de Seara made our trip to Pinhão wonderful.
Casa de Seara made our trip to Pinhão wonderful. The beautiful grounds, the cleanliness of the rooms, the wonderful breakfast, THE VIEWS!!! Monica, the reception/concierge, is WONDERFUL! Not only is she helpful upon arrival, but she assisted us before and throughout our stay. Taxis are not available up on the mountain and difficult in Pinhao, so with our itinerary, she scheduled ALL of our pick-ups and drop-offs ( for 2 days), reserved our boat trip (2hour), and was EXTREMELY easy to communicate. From Google, we found the only restaurant (10 min walk or 2 minute drive) near Seara, Coracao D’ Ouro. Monica helped us navigate and called ahead for us. We cannot say enough about Casa de Seara, except the other lovely people we met there agree!

The views and the home are are spectacular!
The views and the home are are spectacular! It's a mini resort. The house has 5 bedrooms each with an en suite full bathroom, plus at least 2 other bathrooms, outdoor pool with a view, indoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, game room and wine cave where you can buy wine. It's a gorgeous well-maintained house. The kind caretaker lives onsite in a unit downstairs. He prepares and serves a lovely Portuguese continental breakfast that's included in the rental. The house is far from other amenities, so bring your own groceries if you want to cook or eat in.
The caretaker doesn't speak any English, but we were able to communicate and he smokes sometimes. There is WiFi (use lower case letters for password) and air-conditioning.

We loved our 2 nights stay here, and would have happily stayed longer.
Bernardo was a pleasure to deal with; great at communicating, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The other staff were friendly and efficient.
The house is beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The views are spectacular, and the pool is a real bonus on a hot day. There are lots of options for sitting outside, either by the pool or in the garden on the lower terrace, or on the top terrace
Dinner was served outside on the terrace, sharing a table with the other guests, which we enjoyed. The food was homely, tasty and good value.
A car would have made it easier to explore the surrounding area, but we didn't have one, so instead we went for a couple of walks, swam, ate, drank and relaxed... bliss!

The place is simply wondeful. it's an old house with a lot of antiques inside and Bernardo is a great host who goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. Great was the dinner at the table with other guests from all over, that gives you the chance to know other people while eating great homemade dishes and Douro wine. I tried the swimming pool even if the weather was a little chilly, and i can confirm that is simply beautiful the view from there. The room is ok overhaul.
Douro valley is simply breathtaking and i am so glad we decided to spend a night there. Next time i will spend more nights :)

The apartment is located on the grounds of the D'Origem winery in Casal de Loivos. The views from the property are extraordinary. The unit has a large bedroom, living room with a sink and refrigerator, and a bathroom. There is air conditioning in both the living room and the bedroom. The outdoor patio is great for taking in the amazing panorama of the Douro valley. We were also given a tour of the Olive Oil Museum and a tasting of the wines and olive oils produced by D'Origem in their fantastic tasting room.
This property lives up to its name, the view from the balconies and the garden is breathtaking, the welcome was warm and we took up the invitation to have an evening meal, the food was delicious and made with local produce. We used a local taxi to get us up and down from Pinhão to Casal de Loivos, excellent service usually available within 10 minutes of phoning. A really relaxing two night stay.
A very friendly and hard-working team. Everything has something of a visit to the nice aunt. So you shouldn't expect a big city hotel, but rather rustic charm. The view is absolutely amazing and the staff and family are really lovely and endeavour to please. We spent a lovely night there with a delicious breakfast. There is another great viewpoint 100 metres from the location.
What a spectacular location and hotel! It was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. The view from the the room onto the terrace was just breathtaking and having dinner right in the hotel was wonderful after a long day of stops on the Douro Valley. The service was exceptional. We would have loved to have stayed longer. It is definitely on our list of return engagements!
Casa de Seara is a beautiful property atop a hill near by a small and cozy village. It is surrounded by vineyards and views. What more could you ask for? We were met by Monica, who was very helpful with detailed instructions about our stay, with booking a tour on Douro River and advice which wineries to visit and most importantly - where to have dinner.
The hotel is high above Pinhao and the rooms open on to terrace commanding a magnificent view over the Douro valley. Breakfast and dinner, both good, are taken communally with the other guests in a rather grand family dining room. The staff were eager to please and served a welcome drink. A car is essential unless you’re happy to rely on taxis.
Monica was super! The location just could not be beat - everywhere we looked there were vineyards, rolling hills, and more vineyards. Both the poolside and larger deck were so relaxing and were just what we were hoping for. And the rain shower was excellent! We will definitely recommend Casa da Seara!
The Casa is located on the most beautiful vineyard property imaginable. Stunning views! Lovely Monica was incredibly thoughtful & helpful & an amazing hostess. we went walking to another village & had an unbelievable lunch at this small local cafe that was all very magical.
We were greeted warmly by the Host and had a wonderful stay at his beautiful Hotel. Amazing view, love for Details and great historical architecture.
Can highly recommend the Place and view over the duoro valley.
We visited Portugal for two weeks and this was my favorite place to stay. The view was amazing for dinner at night. They served was delicious and the staff was exceptionally helpful and nice.
The hotel was on a hill and had a beautiful view of the valley and river. There was a great pool. Meals were taken with other travelers. It was fun to chat with people from around the world.
The place is beautiful and the staff very nice, just keep in mind that is not close by foot from pinhão center and restaurants in general. The taxi is 10 euros from the hotel to the center.
Perched above Pinhao with beautiful views, I think
the location was perfect. I loved the fact that Casa
da Seara was private and quiet. Rooms and beds
we’re spacious and comfortable.
Very nice hotel with unique atmosphere located in an old family house from the 17th century beautiful views of the valley and very warm and kind local staff
