I like Porto Brandao. It's a tiny old fishing village with just two (good) fish restaurants, a local's cafe and a convenient ferry straight over to Lisboa (€3.50).
The room was clean and the owners had made some effort to make it nice.
The family live in the house right around the room; cooking, chatting and watching TV. They tolerated me politely, although I did feel a bit like I was imposing. Shame I didn't speak enough Portuguese for us to get to know each other.
€50 a night wasn't outrageous, when you consider a bed in a dorm room in Lisboa can be €40 and I was glad to be giving my money to these guys, rather than some corporation.
If you want to experience the real lives of Portuguese people, then you won't get a closer experience than this!

I liked the included breakfast, however, at an Ibis in Prague, the breakfast spread was larger and had more variety.
Located a 10-minute walk from the iconic Marques de Pombal Square and its metro station, the 4-star Lux Lisboa Park features a modern façade and a 24-hour reception.

Lovely quiet (5 pane glazing) and modern room with very comfy bed and in-room safe. If you want to keep your hair dry in the shower, take a shower cap - it's a rainshower or the handheld, and the latter is so powerful that water goes up as well as down.
Pleasant breakfast with several choices and great sightseeing/restaurant/cafe/bar recommendations from the concierge. The staff were all lovely. Free return airport transfers as we stayed more than 3 nights. Lovely comfortable roof terrace with good cocktails, tasty sangria and decent food - the club sandwich was very enjoyable and comes with fries.
Quiet location and several good restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
Empire Lisbon Hotel is located near Lisbon's centre and is just 10 minutes away from Alameda Metro Station.

It's a really nice hotel and very affordable. Right on the metro line and easy to get to. The complementary breakfast is an added bonus. The receptionist was unmatched in her kindness and hospitality, and they even offer one free coffee or tea at their bar during your stay.
