The hotel appearance on arrival is decieving. Externally it looks tired but it is a very clean hotel and the rooms were ideal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful. They provided secure parking for all our motorbikes. Would happily stay here again

My husband and I would like to thank hotel Santa Apolonia so very much for all their help with arranging two taxis to take us and our bicycles to Rabano de Aliste, Spain, 50k away, to enable us to continue our trip. Thank you once again. Wendy and Rob Dixon

IBIS Hotel is located in a cozy location. The staff is vey cooperative. the rooms are very clean and tidy ,but it's preferable to provide a mini refrigerator for the customer.
Also the breakfast is good. But as for the snakes ,it's preferable to add some kind of salads and meals;

The city is very clean and tidy, with lots of very nice places to eat.
The castle is very well preserved, with a Military museum in one of the towers.
One of the reasons we drove to Bragança was to see the Graça Morais art exhibition - she is one of Portugal's best contemporary artists, and she lives and works in Bragança - it was very good!
Just north of the city, the Montesinho National Park has plenty of wilderness for trekking, biking and road trips.

Bragança is a cozy little historic town, the main feature being the castle on the hill. Recommend walking along the river to get there. A little bit of a climb to get to the castle but not too bad. Walk the castle walls and then wander the interior. Come back through the charming center of town. Plenty of good little restaurants and cafes along the way.

The beautiful ancient town of Braganca is a good choice for a short stay while being in Porto. The atmosphere of a place far from the beaten track makes it all worthwile. It offers a picturesque old town, numerous museums that one might visit for free, a park where one can stroll along the river and enjoy the views. Plus, there is a castle (Castelo de Bragança), which is a must-see on the list. Being there do not forget to drop in a Tourist Info where you'll find a superkind staff who will help you plan you trip in and around the place. It is also the gateway to the Park Natural de Montesinho. Enjoy!

To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great.
To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great. Perhaps there are some outdoor activities. I liked the town so much, because it's pleasent to walk around - more pleasant than in other towns, but can't define exactly why so.

Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing.
Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing. Variety of traditional and more groumet restaurants. The best pastry coffee shops!
A wide range of delicious cakes.
Great water to drink and to wash, your skin and hair will feel soft.
It's very safe!
A very pleasant place to spend a few days. Very homey as it’s not a big hotel (pousada) - this also allowed for a friendlier, relaxed relationship with the staff. The room was extremely comfortable as well as large with a magnificent view of the castle that overlooks the town.
The swimming pool is extremely pleasant and a refreshing end for some of the hot days we had. Breakfast was excellent in a cosy room and service impeccable..
In the afternoon we were able to order a tasty platter of cold meats and cheese (see photo).
Location was very good with a bar and supermarket adjacent to hotel. Staff were excellent spoke English very well and gave us ideas of restaurant locations. Room was average size, seemed dark on entering but once metal shutters were raised it was quite bright. Bathroom was adequate and very clean. The hotel is obviously a few years old and could do with a make over but it is what it is. Breakfast on top floor was excellent as was choice. Good views too. Parking underground was helpful too.
Braganca is not the typical tourist destination and we were just passing through on our way to Porto. Beds were more comfortable than Ibis Madrid but still the mattress topper they all use will never be as comfortable as a real mattress. The staff were great and breakfast was very good. Walkable to a small grocer, pharmacy, a park and a few restaurants. Free and safe parking (Safer paid parking available)
The owner was very nice. The house is a typical Portuguese stone house, with a lot of old style objects shown on the walls and wells as around; the house has everything you would need, cutlery, plates, everything was super clean. Mattresses very comfy. If want to visit Braganca or just have a night stop, that is the place where to go. We will certainly go back
The location was remote, but very beautiful - just didn’t realize it was quite so far away from Braganca with no cafe or casual food options nearby. Breakfast was good, though would have appreciated more fruit as well
I had a very good time in Bragança staying at Inn Door 21; the place is very clean, well decorated and the owner Paulo is super nice and helpful. Moreover, the kitchen and the terrace are very pleasant and practical.
It is a lovely place very well restored and very handy for Bragança and the Montesinho National park.
Diana, who was on Reception, gave a guided tour of the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Right in the center of Bragança. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good value for money. If I'm ever in the region again, I'll be definitely staying there. Breakfast was good as well with vegan options.
We chose this hotel because it is so close to the AIMA office. We are so happy we stayed there! We loved the decor, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, and how they made us feel at home.
Very good service and kind welcome. Parking spots available all around.
Good central location to explore city.
Hotel is next to a restaurant and no need to get out of building to have a meal.
"Paulo is very friendly person. The hotel looked very clean and well designed. Beautiful old building and view of Bragança castle.Would recommend a stay at Inn Door 21. Paulo good luck!!
Rooms surprisingly good for a rural hotel - modern purpose built wing. No food served on the Sunday evening, but the hotelier gave us a good recommendation.
