Location beautiful, right on the shore, but a bit away from Madalena, definitively need a rental car if you stay here. Included breakfast is simple, but fresh and practical.

The accommodation was very spacious, and the atmosphere was really relaxed around the compound. Our reception reception was excellent, accommodating for our wishes to have an early exit (and giving us a very early breakfast). Great place, wanted to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery and amenities a little bit more. Would definitely recommend!

The entire experience from the first to the last minute was absolutely incredible. The house is beautiful and with a super cosy decor. Not to mention the huge garden that brings us peace and takes us into the middle of nature (you can even relax in a hammock!!). During our stay, we had a 30th anniversary and the accommodation offered us a (huge) cake and sparkling wine. All these treats make a difference and raise our expectations compared to other places. Carolina (Reservation Manager) is lovely, super available and made us "feel at home"

Casa Baleia Laranja on Pico Island was an absolute delight. The property is unique and exquisitely designed, equipped perfectly for a cozy and comfortable stay. Nestled in a serene and private location, it offered stunning beauty in abundance. The cherry on top was our wonderful host, who was incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. It was truly an experience to cherish!

Arriving at Loving Strangers was like being welcomed into a family you never knew you had. Before I knew it, Stefan had brought me to join all the other guests at a big table in the garden, enjoying a delicious home-cooked 4-course dinner. Pedro and Stefan really succeeded at their long-held dream of creating a place where strangers can meet and part again as friends. Dormitories and bathrooms were spotless, bunkbeds well-designed, offering both privacy and comfort. Staff are super-friendly and helpful. There are bikes for rent, one of which I took over to São Jorge for a day by ferry, where it did itself proud on the hilly roads and dirt tracks. Last bit of advice: don't forget to ask for some of those yummy freshly prepared pancakes for breakfast!
