We had not realised that Rota VMF Redondo was “part of” a service station. We knew that the two shared the same parking area, but were very surprised that the check-in for our room was at the service station. After that, there were only positive surprises. The room was very big with a kitchen area, a living area, a separate large bedroom and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean and comfortable. In the morning, we were treated to a lovely breakfast that was set up for us in the kitchen area of the room. I would definitely recommend.

Located in a quiet street in a residential area. Nice ‘home-y’ ambience. Small outdoor area to sit at. Bedroom is upstairs. We found the stairs to be a bit challenging for our ‘senior’ bodies as they were not much more than a ladder. Adequate street parking.

The property was excellent, everything we needed had been anticipated and supplied, it was exceedingly clean and very modern in every aspect. We visited Estremoz on our 2nd day and had lunch in a 16th century prison, that and a visit to there amazing Saturday market made the trip.

This is a great location for visiting the many historic towns in the area, not least the local border castles and the many wineries. The views across the Alentejo plains from the higher points are spectacular.

In times of pandemic, it’s not always possible to offer what you normally offer but this hotel exceeded expectations in that area. The convento is spectacularly renovated retaining a lot of its history. The food was great. Next time we’d get a suite!

The room was full of atmosphere in an old monk's cell with beautiful old tiles on the wall. The view over the valley was superb and everywhere was peaceful and serene. The whole hotel was covered in ancient ceramic tiles and there were beautiful fountains. The pools were lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds and set in tranquil gardens. Meals were served in the cloisters and the quality of the food was excellent and made with local produce.
The convent is really a gem, we are so glad we picked this location;
It’s absolutely stunning and the views are amazing. Very unique experience.
breakfast is very good; staff are friendly;
The room we stayed at (room 131)was very good and has a couple of chairs and umbrellas right at the front with beautiful views;
The restaurant at the hotel is excellent;
Our son loved the pool and the play room;
The restaurant staff at dinner were friendly and welcoming. The meal itself was traditional Alentejo fare and the cost was reasonable. Breakfast was adequate (100% buffet.) The hotel is well located with extensive views from the grounds.
It is incredible how this old convent was transformed into an amazing hotel, maintaining its original looks. The staff is extremely nice and available!
