The breakfast was great and the staff. Really nice. My only request is to make weekend stays like for 2 nights specials or 3 days specials. That would be great. Thank you.

It would be good if breakfast was included given the high rates charged for the rooms per night. I was disappointed breakfast wasn't included with the accommodation. I mostly likely to book in a hotel that includes accommodation with breakfast next time I am in POM

Despite the various overhyped negativity painted by the media daily, the city is actually safe, friendly and can be enjoyable.
Accommodation-wise, for high budget travelers, Stanley Hotel, Airways, and Hilton are recommended. Loloata Island resort is also a luxurious choice. Medium ranged budget travelers can opt for Ela Beach Hotel, Gateway Hotel & Apartments, Holiday Inn apartments or one or the premier rooms.
Airways, Hilton and Stanley hotels have delicious menus of local and international dishes served on breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets daily. As well as that, the Vision City mega mall, Rangeview mall, or Waterfront or Foodworld shops have variety of fresh and processed food choices available for those that prefer cooking their own meals. The Boroko or Gordans main markets are your choice for fresh local produce.
Local taxis are generally preferred cheap mode of transport from point, otherwise it is recommended to get a hire car and driver (if you are not familiar with the city roads). A general Google search can list down various hire car services. Depending on type of vehicle, daily rates average around AUD$150/day for a decent car.
Again, despite the continuous bad portrayal of the city and its residents, it is in fact much more safer than assumed. The locals tend to not bother tourists/visitors as much, however there are a few bad apples here and there (as you would expect from a rapidly growing city rife with uncontrolled urban drift and population growth), hence to be on the safe side, avoid walking on foot around specific suburbs (Erima, Gordons, Morata) at night.

Lovely place public transport is not recommended for people who are COVID-19 conscious, very over crowded and most people do not observe the niupla pasin. Advise to get your own hire vehicle or clean taxi's

Stanley Hotel I think the best located and awesome hotel, however double check if they are prepared to take you to the airport, specifically the APEC terminal at Jacksons International, at a super expensive rate and booking a suite one would expect the Hotel to bring you to your port of departure by plane.
we stay there often and never had this problem, this time they refused, and the duty manager was of zero help and told us to arrange our own transport. for this reason I might never book there again and let my connections at Tabubil know as we all have to use the APEC terminal.

The general genuine friendliness of the Papua New Guinea people Is great. Like all cities in the world it has its criminal element which tends to spoil PNG on the whole. The different cultures of the people is fascinating.
This is a budget gem in the overpriced Port Moresby market. The owner (Kule) and driver (Ronnie) were very hospitable, and provided complimentary lifts to restaurants. It is safe to wander immediate neighbourhood (including to the nearby supermarket and betel nut sellers). The small room was perfect for my budget - air con, fan, satellite tv, hot water, kettle, fridge. I had a private tour guide who picked me up each day, so I didn’t have to hassle Ronnie too much for lifts.
These are the things I liked at Sanctuary Hotel Resort and Spa. The room is wonderful with maximum space. The shuttle bus service is perfect. They offer shop runs for those who doesnt have car. And the breakfast is free and superb with local taste mix. Finally, it's quiet with friendly staff. They even packed breakfast for the early 4am Airport transfer. Impressive!
Wonderful hotel. Highly recommend to anyone who visits Port Moresby.
Thank you
This is an accommodation complex that is quite distant from the airport (30 mins). It is very safe and secure, being part of a larger industrial complex. It's not really a hotel, but the rooms are perfectly adequate. There is a decent bar onsite, the rooms are clean, sizable and well equipped. Food is provided in a canteen, it is substantial and decent in quality. Staff are very helpful. Airport transfers are readily available for 150 kinas.
Breakfast was great--excellent coffee, fruit, and I could swop PNG veg for a sausage, which I did everyday. My room was comfortable, and it was nice to have a fridge, kettle, and microwave. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I loved how many plants filled the property, making it an urban garden and adding privacy and noise blocking.
After some discussion, we were able to get free breakfasts to partially make up for the closed pool (see below). Other friends preferred to get a room upgrade. We are grateful to the hotel for this concession, but would still have preferred to have the use of the pool!
The Breakfast portions were amazing! A little inconsistent but still great portions.
The Ladies Suite is very nice. I liked that the Kitchen was equipped so we could do a little cooking.
The Gym is the best so was the Executive Lounge
The Airways is one of the most stylish hotels for business in the Pacific. It’s not a resort but it is very comfortable and airy, with beautifully designed shared spaces and generous rooms. The location above the airport is amazing.
The breakfast was superb. It is always a very good experience to dine at your restaurant. The location of the hotel is the best
because it is at the center of the city.
The basic things and other things you need are available.
I appreciate always the nice clean linen. Also the sustainability efforts of the hotel. The food is generally good and the staff are hardworking and friendly. The only hiccup this time was the unavailability of wifi in the rooom.
The room was great. Worth the price that we paid for. Plus booking online gives you a good discount as well.
Hotel was also near a lot of great restaurants and bars in the Harborside area.
Would defs book again
