PENSION TOKA EVA, hotel in Nuku Hiva

PENSION TOKA EVA is situated in Nuku Hiva and offers a garden and a shared lounge. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

Our reservation was cancelled by the owner who didn’t even notify us about it and sent us to a different place. We realised we are not in Toka Eva when we got to the place where they transfered us. Funny, they charged for non existing service. First they try to avoid us and when we finally reached them to clearify the situation they pretend like everything is just absoluty fine. Think booking.com should take a closer look at this business.

TEMAEVA LODGE, hotel in Nuku Hiva

Most amazing, charming and very helpful host. Picup service at the airport and drop off at the harbour, and made me/us to feel very welcome at home. A guidetrip were useful and nice. The apartment simpel (modern - love it) and nice, clean and comfortable and relax atmosphere. Approx 15 minutes walking to the grocery and ocean. I enjoyed staying at Temaeva Lodge! I hope one day I can travel back to Nuku Hiva and stay again at Temaeva Logde with my lovely family. Thank you very much for the hospitality. You are such as a gourgous, Temaeva :) Best wishes from Heidi, Norway - seiling- and diving trip on French Polynesia in 2 months.

The ride from the airport is a great introduction to the many natural wonders of Nuku Hiva. Stay long enough to visit the historic sites all over Nuku Hiva. I learned a lot about the history of the Marquesans. The best insight was from Ana and Tangy at Cannibal Art. Touring sites on my own was good....but you really need a guide to get the most out of your visit.

I spent a week in Nuku Hiva and the highlight of my trip was Ana and Tanguy’s hike to the waterfall, in the breathtakingly beautiful bay and forest of Hakaui (check their site, Cannibal Art, Ana and Tanguy). I also took a day tour with a superb local guide. I do not recal his name but ask Colette at the information centre and ask who Lise did her day with in October and she will know! Colette is very friendly and helpful in all respects. The rehearsals for the December festival was the cherry on the cake.

    Location and accommodation excellent.

Location and accommodation excellent. Family owners excellent also. I was there to see the endemic birds and all were found on a walk around the town, and Upe on the drive from the airport. No need for a car. Ordering food was a bit hard because I don't speak French very well. It is important to not have high expectations of a luxury stay. The facilities are completely adequate but not luxurious.
