Everything.. we were only planning on staying for 7 days. Less then an hour being here we changed our plans for the rest of our stay in Panama and stayed here for 11 day. We travel many times per year around the world and I admit this location, property, staff and amenities are 10 / 10 exceptional. The staff upgraded us to a complete house. It was aprox 400 sq/ft equipped fully with full kitchen, king size bed, air conditioning and patio overlooking the ocean. Largest houses in the area and very clean. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Amazing view. Direct access to the beach. Very quiet and close to the centers for scuba-diving and diving.
Seemed like the best accommodation of the town. Would 200% recommend!

The best thing was the great owner and staff, thank you
Good location in the town
Santa Catalina is an interesting place. If I were younger and a surfer, it might be awesome. At this stage it feels like it is still the frontier, the “wild west” of Panama. It is obviously super popular with the crunchy backpacker and surfer crowd, and judging by the development taking place (golf course down the road), it will soon be popular with the expats and gringos as well.

Good place to have a day trip to Coiba, we did an excellent snorkelling tour with Watching Dolphins.
Playa Estero is very pleasant for a lazy afternoon ( but better with a car!).
Some pleasant restaurants in the village : We liked lodge bar and restaurant, very good and friendly.
Very disappointed by Los Penguinos, beautiful view and nice for a drink, but very very very long service.
There is an ATM near the Pharmacia and supermarket.

I’ve been to Santa Catalina about 9x in the last 15 yrs.
I’ve been to Santa Catalina about 9x in the last 15 yrs. It’s clearly a place I enjoy. I’m there for the diving. If you go there to dive you should visit Isla Coiba … it’s world class. Of course you also have surfing, kayaking, fishing, walking on the beach or just relaxing at your hotel pool. Highly recommend getting out and enjoying one of the many restaurants. I also really like the people, who I find friendly and hard working. Hangout by the beach at sunset and you’ll find locals & tourist playing volleyball or just sitting over a cold beer enjoying the view.

Santa Catalina is quiet surf town.
Santa Catalina is quiet surf town. During the day, most of the restaurants were closed. There are two beaches, the nicer one is Estero beach, which is good place to surf, even for the beginners. You can do snorkling trips, diving, surf or kayaking to the Santa Catalina island, where the beach was great and water clear.

Santa Catalina is an extremely nice surfer town!
Santa Catalina is an extremely nice surfer town! It is definitely one of my favourite spots in Panama in general! It is more remote so if you are a solo traveler I would suggest staying in a social hostel.
The people are friendly and it is a really nice town as a beginning surfer or advanced.
And you should do the coiba tour!!! It is so beautifull, i have no regrets paying a little more for a tour like this.

One of the top places I've been to for scuba diving, I've been there a few times and I've seen whale sharks, bull sharks, white tip sharks, giant oceanic rays, cownose rays, eels, sea turtles, sea horses, frogfish, etc.
Loved eating in Hotel Iguanito, Ai Mamita (in Villa Coco Hotel), and for breakfast: Café Panachocolat and Sugar Mamas.
Not super easy to get around, you basically need a shuttle or car to go through the bumpy road. Once there, it's a bit hilly for the average walker/bike rider. If you stay in the intersection where all the dive centers are located, and you're there to scuba dive, then you're walking distance from everything you need.
The location of the Ranch is absolutely wonderful. You are right on Playa Estero and you can enjoy the amazing view from the sun deck. Though at the farthest point in Santa Catalina, it is only a 10 minute walk to town and is close to restaurants and frutterias.
There is a shared kitchen available for all guests, allowing you to prepare some of your meals instead of dining out constantly. The kitchen and its utensils are quite rustic and overused but are sufficient for what one would need on vacation.
We loved staying here! Did one day snorkeling tour to Coiba, which was amazing and they arranged it well, and the other full days we just stayed by the pool all day long, walked on the beach here and just enjoyed the hotel. Food in the restaurant was also amazing!! Thumbs up for the chef and the sweet ladies who served us. The room was clean and big, and we also saw crocodiles and a snake from our inside porch. Very fun experience, would love to come back someday!
intended to come only for two nights. in the end I stayed one entire week jn Bodhi. The hats as well as the hostel itself are well equipped. however, it’s the unique atmosphere what’s makes this place special. the hotel manager Adrian and it’s Team are more than friendly and make you feel home right from the beginning. dive schools and restaurants are close by. will definitely return
Breakfast was complete, coffe, pancake and fruit, the host make the breakfast once you are up so everything is fresh.
The location has everything close, beach, restaurants, however you can cook your own meal, that also a plus if you don't want to expend additional money.
Maira and her husband are from Milan Italy and have been running this boutique hotel and pizza place for ten years. They really go out of their way to give you a fantastic experience. It was my wife’s birthday and she made sure to get a delicious cheesecake for her.
- very nice staff, they help you with everything
- perfect location almost in the middle of Santa Catalina. Its about 10 minutes walk from the next beach. There are 2 supermarktes in Santa Catalina and one of them is right in front of the door of the Hostel.
The location directly at the beach and the view is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious and the restaurant is almost always open which is quite handy. They have a great surf teacher with which quick progress is guaranteed and they also rent boards.
The Family Vibe hang out cook together beach together sunsets are unreal it’s a feeling I’ve never felt the connection before like this in other hostels.
Best night is BBQ night we kept extending & doing more nights in Catalina
- very elegant place, nicest beach hotel I have been to
- large room with well structured outside shower
- very good restaurant
- nice outside area around our cabin
- superb pool with comfortable sun beds
We thought I would be more like a hostel, but I'ts a hotel kind of vibe. Very nice pool with a great view though . The road to get to Santa Catalina however is in very bad shape so keep this in mind.
Great location and love the pool overlooking the ocean to watch surfers. The staff was so nice and helpful! the restaurant had great food! Power was still running even when the area was out of power!
The entire staff was amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable and fun! We loved the proximity to Santa Catalina (20 minute drive) and the fact that it offered so much privacy and quietude!
Its nice hotel, in Santa Catalina, we mainly chose it because it was pet friendly and we booked late. The staff is super friendly and its close to the main activities on town.
Nice Hostel in the center of Santa Catalina (also direct access to the beach). You can rent Kajaks and Surf Boards and the staff is really nice.
Basic but clean rooms
Right on the beach! Amazing location- probably the best in Santa Catalina! Clean, cute cabinas with hot showers. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice outside bar.
Basic hotel not far from beach. You can use a kitchen an sit on the balcony for breakfast or a drink. Rooms are bigger than they write in their announcement.
