Words cannot express the beauty of this gem of a place. The house was amazing, full of history. There are postcard views from every window and the wonderful interior made it feel even more special. Hosts are extremely kind and helpful people who helped us discover the scenic surroundings. There is so much to see around. Cannot wait to go back...

I saw that someone wrote about road noise and soundproofing. We slept with our windows open. There's no road noise at night, and the other guests were quiet at night. Since that is when one wants quiet to sleep, I would not make that a complaint. The Hotel is old and historic and an incredible find. I personally did not hear other guests at any time. I could hear traffic (what little there was as this is Vang, not Oslo) occasionally during the day but I'm not in my room to sleep while the sun is shining and there are mountains to hike, hills to climb, lakes to refresh in before the sauna experience (which, by the way, includes a large picture window so that we relax while gazing at this spectacular view), wine to sip in the sun room, and a stroll into town.
