It's a stunning and convenient location next to the harbor, we even were able to start a hike right outside the door. We really appreciated the coffee machine and having a washer and dryer, as well as the responsiveness of the host when we had an issue with the door and some other questions.
Situated just 20 km from The Lysefjord, Hikers Camp, Part of Preikestolen BaseCamp features accommodation in Jørpeland with access to a terrace, a bar, as well as private check-in and check-out.

It may seem a bit strange the feeling I kept about this location. It is a basic accommodation. It has a very old history (more than two centuries, if I remember well). Our room had 5 bunk beds. The place was not impecabilly clean. The weather was nasty. But, somehow, the whole picture gave me a very fresh impression... some memories of youth... a scent of good times long gone.
There is plenty of free space. There is mountain, forest, lake and meadows. You can choose even a tent, if you want. It is a place where people can gather, feel closer one each other. Where rain means a movie wathced in an old style cinema hall. Where stories are tell and plans about the future are easier to see. Where two stil young pianos are somehow taking care of a third one, much too old to be able to sing.
A place where I would like to come back. And an excellent base for Pulpit Rock ... it's a must see in a lifetime
cute little town and astonishing nature --> great for hiking...
cute little town and astonishing nature --> great for hiking, kayaking and other outdoor activities; the chocolate factory was super. One week before Easter it was not very crowdy which I really appreciated

We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark.
We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark. My husband and I are both 65 and even though there is a lot of uneven tracks and rocks and some steep sections, if you take your time and have plenty of breaks you will be well and truely rewarded by some amazing scenery. I felt I was really in Norway when I reached some of the view points. Even though it was raining when we started the walk, it did clear and by the time we made it to Pulpit Rock the sun was shining. We were also lucky that there were not many people there on that day!! About 60? Took us about 5 1/2 hours to do the return trip with plenty of stops for admiring the views and lunch.. Well worth the sore legs the next day!!!

Jørpeland was a very quiet town.
Jørpeland was a very quiet town. Quaint and authentic, but not many dining options for those looking for a meal and a drink. But, for those who are looking for an access point to the great outdoors, it is great!
The trails and people were wonderful.
I missed my flight,
so I arrived very late at the hotel, after midnight!
The owners of the house were very kind and kept in touch with me through messages and emails..
They left me the key to the room so that I could enter independently...
The service was excellent and kind!
The room is really small, but with a shower and toilet inside.
The breakfast was good.
There is parking for cars and a beautiful view!
Also, the hotel is really close to pulpit rock, recommended..
The hotel was in a very good location , we had a room overlooking the harbour which was picture perfect.
In the corridor was a small kitchen unit which you could use, it had a kettle, fridge and coffee machine (filter coffee).
If you like a good dinner with a fabulous garden and view over the bay just walk out of the hotel across the road to Villa Rosehagen, not cheap but well worth it.
You are about a 10 minute drive away from Preikestolen.
The hotel's location is excellent, right at the starting point of the Trolltunga hiking trail, and they offer free parking for guests. This was the only hotel we booked with breakfast on our trip to Norway, and the breakfast was quite generous. Staying at the hotel had a significant advantage as we were able to hike to Trolltunga twice, once on the first afternoon and again on the second morning, of course, thanks to the good weather.
The base camp is the ideally located for anyone who wants to hike up to Preikestolen, especially if they want an early start. The room was comfortable, although a little noisy at night! We could hear people talking and serenading each other on the guitar through the thin walls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Free parking right by the hotel was a big plus.
I stayed in a nest/tent. Loved it! There is heating and usb ports inside for charging your phone etc. There's also a communal tent with a fridge and freezer which is a bonus.
Excellent location, beautiful surroundings. Good breakfast in the main hotel.
Remember to bring your own sleeping bag if you're planning on staying in the nest.
The hotel standard was even better than we expected. Very nice staff that even spoke some german, breakfast was very good especially for Norwegian conditions, free parking directly at the hotel or also for free nearby. Absolutely recommended place where we could have even stayed a bit longer and very good value for it's price.
Only location of the hotel that is 100 m from the center and near the Rosengarden with a beautiful garden and see view. Room offers a sewage pipe and a view on the garbage bins and parking. Bed is placed in the corner, one should crawl on the bed. Receptionist is not friendly. Breakfast is usual continental.
The room was what we expected, the bed was very comfy. Of course it's not a very spacious room or bathroom but perfect for a few nights. Overall the hotel is very nice, has a good atmosphere and views. Great location for the Pulpit Rock hike and very good breakfast! Staff was helpful as well.
It was a brilliant stay at “Modern Apartment in the Harbour of Jørpeland”. Simply perfect! Great location, lovely atmosphere in the city, 3 min walk to 3 supermarkets. 12 min driving from the natural wonder of Norway - Pulpit Rock. I can without hesitation recommend this place.
This is not the hotels fault but please read the details. Having said that it was still an experience and did the trick. I know I won't ever forget it. Beautiful spot and very good restaurant on site. Perfect location for Pulpit Rock.
It is just right at the trail head to begin our hike
Breakfast n dinner are good
Staffs are very good as well n friendly
Only booking.com did not forward our booking reference number issued by hotel to us
Proximity to the trail, beautiful location on a lake, simplicity of ghe hotel, yet spaciousness - the rooms are on a small side (at least, if you travel with kids), but lots of common places.
Cute hotel, near harbor, clean room, good breakfast, grocery/restaurants/pharmacy all within walking distance. Great location for a short drive to Pulpit Hike.
