A cute little town with a nice town center. A large church with lots of restaurants around. On Saturday there is a nice market with specialties and food. Go early, after 10:00 it is full of German tourists :-D
Right in the heart of this cute village is the Stad Munster. Located in the town square it is a quaint little hotel / restaurant with great facilities, friendly staff and comfy rooms. I had the single room which catered to my needs and provided an excellent setting for me to explore the town, meet some other travellers and enjoy the scenery. The bartender in the restaurant was knowledgeable on the local beers and offered great advice on other places to visit.
Location location location :) you're at a farm where you can have long discussions with the cows in today's fields or you can take a walk or cycle in to town. The market in Winterswijk is fantastic and lots to see in the town e en though Google does not show it. The tent has a bed, kettle , table and chairs... fantastic.
A real family ran hotel; small, with a kind staff and everything had a personal touch. They live up to the their credo 'relax' - there wasn't anything that could be arranged and never did we feel like a burden. Do you want a pleasant stay in a great part of the Netherlands, we can recommend staying here.

Great stay in Winterswijk. Friendly staff. Accommodation had all we needed. Self contained holiday home in the beautiful Achterhoek region. Two excellent holiday homes and nice campsite at the back. Recommended.
A school turned into hotel rooms & appartments. Nice and spacious rooms, we were in the one with a science theme. Great location, in quiet neighborhood near city center. Great & plentiful in-room breakfast.

The hotel looks really nice, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also ok. I really liked that it had a bowling and table tennis area as well which we could use.
