Upon arriving at Pension de Wadvaarder (through the back gate), you’ll enter into a cozy living room and dinning area. Gerrit & Annemieke have a great sense of style and it shows throughout the property, including the garden. The bedroom was spacious and had a small reading room with books (in Dutch). For breakfast you are provided a checklist of items to choose from which are then freshly assembled for you in the morning. The items are excellent quality, some derived from Terschelling (cheese, cranberry compote, eggs…) - lekker!
The pension is close to the village center and bus stop. Hikes on the dike, in the forrest, on the dunes, and beach are easily manageable. Of course you can also bike if you want to move around faster and farther.

Spacious suite, excellent bed, close to the beach. It’s an upscale beach hotel where you feel comfortable to bring in a bit of sand on your shoes. Exceptional reception staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel organized electric bikes which were excellent.

Great location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast included.
The location was great since it’s just a few-minute walk from the bus stop and Midsland town centre. The breakfast was good and the hosts are friendly. Although there are a lot of people coming and going and although the house is quite old, you can tell that they do their very best to keep the pension clean, tidy, and homely.
The top room in the attic felt a bit short on space because of the slanted roof, but there was plenty of nice storage space, so it doesn’t feel cluttered.
Staying in Midslands is very convenient. All parts of the island are easy to reach. There is a bike rental place across the street from this hotel and the nearest grocery store is minutes away (by bike), along with multiple great restaurants. The kids loved being about to use the pool each day. The kitchen had all of the equipment that we wanted to use.
A nice little room that was perfectly enough for us and very comfortable. Everyone there was very kind and helpful. The building has a beautiful garden for you to sit in and enjoy the weather, and it's right in the center of Midsland.
