Middelburg was full of surprises at every corner. A tourist friendly easy walk around town. Beautiful architecture, cafes, and restaurants.
Nothing to fault in this town other than if you have a car parking difficult and expensive. Easy to access via trains.

Middelburg is a charming medieval city with cobblestone...
Middelburg is a charming medieval city with cobblestone streets, lovely churches, beautiful canals, and its own windmill. The shopping district is extensive, and there are restaurants of every kind with cozy outdoor seating. Dining outdoors on the main square is lovely!
Middelburg is a very walkable city. The train station is not far from old town, so if you book a place in old town you can usually walk there in less than ten minutes. We found affordable parking for our car in an underground garage by the Albert Heijn grocery store on Het Groene Woud. I can't think of any restaurants to avoid; every place we went was pretty great. Prices are a little higher on the main square.
I would recommend renting a bike and riding around the city, especially going out into the green countryside to see the cozy houses, sheep, cows, and goats. In the summer, there are flowers in abundance. The ocean is also just a few kilometers away and is a nice place for a sunset walk.

Beautiful houses with elegant doors.
Beautiful houses with elegant doors. Walking around town is great. A visit to the local museum of Zeewyse is also worthwhile and interesting. True, the fashion exhibition is closed. Nice, great restaurants and cafes. We had dined at the restaurant Basalt and were very pleased with the excellent food and service. A very nice central square. It was very interesting to get to the flea market, which happens quite often here.

Middelburg is one of my favourite places in the Netherlands.
Middelburg is one of my favourite places in the Netherlands. Very historic and beautiful star Fort city, the central plaza at the stadhuis is huge and filled with bars and restaurants. Small enough town to walk around easily, and the expected standard of cycle paths and signs, makes it a great place to stop when cycling Zeeland
We liked the Roosevelt for the historic building, central location and the artsy interiors and decoration. Breakfast was served (in contrast to the usual buffet style) with a very good selection of different choices. The location is as central as could be in the historic city center and parking is available just in front of the hotel (although you might want to find a different spot for longer stays given there is a meter). We will definitely consider the Roosevelt when we come back to lovely Middelburg.
while the outside of the hotel is very unassuming, the inside is very warm and friendly. I have seen some reviews that the rooms are cold. What I noticed during my stay was the radiator valve was closed. I opened and then the heat started flowing. The room was small but we’ll laid out and very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very expansive and very good.
Attention to detail in design of apartments and overall equipment, very kind and friendly landlord and lady taking care of the guests, best address in Middelburg for both a short or longer stay - close to all beaches in Zeeland, sweet town to explore, great for activities with kids.
Great location, comfy bed, and the hospitality! The owner went above and beyond to make sure I get all that i needed during my stay. Plus point for me is that the hotel has a great fan, perfect for hot summer night. Totally recommend if you ever visit Middelburg!
It was a convenient and picturesque location. I arrived late and left quite early, so couldn't take full advantage of the location.
The breakfast was probably the best that I have had recently in the Netherlands, and this was the fifth hotel in a week.
Nice little hotel in the middle of Middelburg. I stayed one night but would have loved to stay more! Room was cozy and confortable. Bed was amazing! Slept really well. The room had lots of light and a desk to work on, which was perfect in my case.
Great location. Friendly staff. A good and calm place to stay. The breakfast was pretty good (more or less a standard breakfast for network hotels): bread, cheese, sliced meat, scrambled and boiled eggs, beacon, pancakes and some other things.
Hotel Loskade 45 has a perfect location to visit Middelburg. Arriving by train, you just walk one minute, and by car you just park in front of the door. Inside is very elegant and clean. The service is super.
friendly and personal.
Marvellous hotel in the old town of Middelburg. Perfect location and super friendly and helpful staff. The suite (Laura) was very spacious, stylish and clean. Breakfast was nice and can be selected the day ahead. Highly recommended
We had a very modern and comfortable room with a nice big bed sturdy bed. Enough wardrobe space. The breakfast was really good with fresh juices and they have a nice vegan restaurant. And the whole hotel has a nice woody smell.
Beautiful, modern hotel with excellent breakfast and dinner options.
Spacious and comfortable rooms and a superb wellness and swimming pool area.
Not too far from Middelburg and a short drive away from Domburg and the coast.
The location is very good. You can go by walk from the train station, close to the downtown. The hotel’s restaurant is very good: drinks, main courses and appetizers. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is very good.
We asked if we could drop off our suitcase 6 hours before check in time. The owner kept them for us till we came back to the hotel later that evening. He also offered a better room when we arrived, which we gladly accepted.
