We didn’t have breakfast. The location by the station was a big plus. It allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go without using taxis/Uber.
The rooms were kept clean and housekeeping was good. My room was at the back so not much of a view. My travelling friends were higher up at the front, a better room than mine.
Staff were all helpful, professional and friendly.
The hotel was quiet and the public areas kept clean and tidy.

A Leiden local recommended this charming, centrally located hotel to us. Once military barracks, the hotel has a lovely garden and a neighbourly feel - even though all the sights of the town are easily walkable. The staff are friendly, helpful and provide plenty of tips for tourists.

Very nice design of the rooms. Quite, but central location, 15 minutes by foot from the train station. Complementary coffee and tea in the room as well as a welcome drink at the check-in. Friendly and helpful guy at the reception. No problem leaving our bags after checking out.

The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy...
The old city of Leiden is beautiful and full of energy wherever you go. In June it gets dark at about 10.30pm, so you have plenty of time to visit and see places all over the town. To my experience, I think that 3 days (or 2 and a half days) are enough to visit the most important places and enjoy life in Leiden.

Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only...
Beautiful old city with excellent bus and rail services only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Plenty museums to visit and the oldest university in the Netherlands, Botanical gardens and Rembrandt's home and studio. Canal cruises and cycle hire to explore the outer part of the city. Plenty places to eat. We tended to eat at the restaurant near the hotel. Ideal location to visit both Delft and the Hague from. Would hope to return again. I travelled with 18 members of my family and stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel. Everyone thought Leiden was an excellent location to visit Keukenhof, Delft and the Hague from.

Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands...
Great town and central to day trips all over the Netherlands. Much more pleasant than staying in Amsterdam and only a short 20 minute train ride directly to Schiphol Airport. Could not be more convenient and relaxing.

Leiden is a great place to stay.
Leiden is a great place to stay. It’s like staying in a mini Amsterdam without as many people. Lovely canals to walk around and lots of small individual places to eat. Very peaceful to stroll around with a lovely market held on Saturday and Wednesdays. We took one of the walking tours around the town which you can buy at the local tourist information office. Also enjoyed going up the Windmill, but be prepared for a steep climb down. Well worth a visit!

Lovely city to walk in.
Lovely city to walk in.
All the people we met and staff in bars and hotel were helpful and friendly.
Sadly only had time for one visit - to Hortus Botanicus- which was well worth the time.
Would plan to visit again.
The hotel is located in a historical building a short walk from the main Leiden train station. It was also within walking distance of restaurants and shops on the main shopping street Haarlemmerstraat. Note that the building where the lobby is located and where we checked in is in a separate building from where our room was located. The room was located on the second floor. It had a great view of the canal and was also very quiet and comfortable. The hotel had history and character and made for a very pleasant stay in Leiden.
Absolutely beautiful and very generous room (I booked the Royal Suite). Everything about it was lovely, from the view over the canal from the windows, to the decor and the very, very comfortable bed. Good coffee maker in the room, plenty of storage, great lighting and well placed in the historic centre of Leiden. You can get breakfast, you just need to tell the staff ahead of time, but we walked down the road to a great little cafe instead. Highly recommended hotel.
Room was marvelous: large, lots of storage space, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and amenities. The hotel is perfectly located to visit the historical center of Leiden. Although largely self-service, we were able through emails and in person communication to deal with any issues prior to arrival and during our stay. The hotel is highly rated on Booking. It deserves its high ratings and more. Could not have been happier with our choice.
This clean and tastefully furnished hotel is situated in the city centre, 10 minutes on foot from the railway station. Lots of shops, restaurants and pubs around, a quay for boat trips along Leiden's canals is some 100 m from the door.
The staff are wonderful, very polite and friendly. Check in was quick and unproblematic, the system for unlocking the doors with an app on your mobile was new to me, but intuitive and very easy to use.
- The location is perfect! Leiden Centraal (train station) is a couple of minutes away from you
- Right in front of the living room you look at the beautiful windmill
- The house is warm and the toilet has heated floors
- We thought the couch was small but we found out last day that it's extendable!!
- Kitchen had everything you'd need to make things inside
- The instructions were clear and easy
I liked the personal service at this hotel. The whole staf is very friendly and helpfull . The Hotel provides a relax feeling. The room was clean with a nice design and have an amazing view over the Morspoort. The breakfast was Fantastic.. The Hotel is centrally located in the center of the beautiful City of Leiden. I recommend this hotel.
I had used this Hotel in a previous visit and I had loved the wonderful location and I found the room convenient enough even though was very outdated and in desperate need of renovations. It was quaint to a point.
Leiden is worth a visit. Beautiful old town full of life, with barely any tourists!
The hotel has a lot of character. Staff were pleasant. Our room had a beautiful water view. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Leiden, with many restaurants and shops nearby. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the train/bus station. The bed was large and comfortable.
Very good location close to main square in old town. Instructions for accessing front door and hotel room were clear. Pleasant, well-equipped room. Leiden is a beautiful city with lots to see, and is convenient for visiting Keukenhof Gardens.
The position was great. 8 minutes from Leiden station and right on the edges of the centrum. We didn't need any other transportations, we just walked everywhere. It's near a lot of bars and restaurants, with a beautiful view.
Nice, modern hotel right next to the train station which was convenient for an early morning connection to Schiphol Airport and also just a short walk into Leiden old town. The bed was comfortable and the shower great.
Sparkling clean suite with a comfortable bed in a brand new hotel, well stocked kitchenette, great location, and friendly and helpful staff. We would stay here again if we are in Leiden again.
The hotel is very convenient for the railway station and not far from the town centre. The breakfast has an extensive range and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Leiden is great!
Amazing monumental property right at the edge of the small city centre of Leiden. I am myself from Leiden originally, and was amazed by this hotel! Lovely staff and easygoing vibes!
I love the Golden Tulip. The reception staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Checking in and out is so efficient. The hotel is comfortable and the location is perfect
Nice boutique hotel in the centre of Leiden, in walking distance of public transport and the city centre. Kind, professional stuff and excellent breakfast!
