It is very easy to move around as the train station is close. A must-visit are the windmills and farms where you can see the animals, enjoy a meal, and walk around. Most farms give you food samplings to try out before buying, and it's all organic and tasty.

It is small village along the river between the famous museum Zaanse Schans and Zaandam. Very quiet and peaceful. I found there a place to eat, a supermarket, a good shop for households. To Zaandam once an hour there is a bus. The train station is close.
