Right next to the ferry port! My father and I stayed here the night before we were due to get the ferry. While the reception is only manned part of the day, it's easy to get in touch with the staff via phone and WhatsApp. They even let us check in early as we had been caught in a rain storm (we are motorcyclists). The room was spacious and well equipped, including Netflix on the TV. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, and it won't be the last :)
Leonardo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach is located 150 metres from the beach and surrounded by the Kennemermeer and the yachting harbour. A sauna and Turkish steambath are featured.

Friendly staff, outstanding breakfast! Would definitely recommend!
Centrally located in IJmuiden, Hotel Velsen has free Wi-Fi. The A9 motorway and Ijmuiden’s beach are 10-minute drive away. Rooms at Velsen come with a cable TV and a tea/coffee maker.

Hotel Velsen was a life saver. We needed a place to stay between hitching a car ride to Ijmuiden and getting on the Amsterdam-Newcastle ferry. Since we have two cats, the pickings were slim. Luckily, Hotel Velsen is pet friendly. Our room was on two levels, and there was a window sill on each level, one per cat. The owners were lovely and very helpful.
This classic city hotel is located in the city centre, within walking distance of the Market Square with its famous St. Bavo Church. Guests benefit from free Wi-Fi during their stay.

The hotel is well located. Parking was easy. There is a public carpark across the plaza. We booked online on the way there and it wasn't expensive.Thw train and bus stations are also convenient. It's only a short walk to the town centre and restaurants.

I had been to IJmuiden as a child many times and I am familiar with the neighbouring towns we had intended to visit.
Instead, we went further afield and upon the advice of the staff we planned our route slightly different.
The staff are very very competent and knowledgeable, always smiling and making sure their guests have everything they need.
For us…our time there was too short but nevertheless a fantastic stay. Thank you everyone for your care , hospitality and helpful service. We loved our stay with you

Went for the Race circuit at Zandvoort but we had lunch on the beach nearby and it looked good. The whole are has really interesting architecture and was a proper Dutch community town rather than just a tourist site

North of the canal, there is industry which is a fascinating view, they're building the biggest lock in the world there! The city is pleasant and there is some shopping opportunity. The beach is fantastic, the dunes are enormous and part of them are in a national park.
I had a lovely stay in this relaxed hotel. Friendly welcome, nice clean room with air con and fridge, bed was comfy, large clean shower room. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Ideal location for the ferry. Free car parking.
The hotel was easy to find and had lots of available nearby free parking. It was handy for getting the ferry. The room was ok, like you would expect in a budget hotel with thin towels, paper cups, no extra pillows.
nice location, very clean beach! The hotel was dog-friendly for an additional price. Note: Dogs are not always allowed at the beach! Unfortunately no vegan options at the restaurants.
