Lovely property, comfortable and with everything we needed for our trip. The staff were helpful and very friendly and it really was a lovely find. Very pleased with our choice of hotel for our weekend away and would definitely stay here again if we returned.

Access to the bird park is really what makes this hotel an incredible experience - you get access on all days you stay there and the park really did exceed my expectations.
The room was spacious, clean and comfy.
Breakfast was on the expensive side but the buffet had everything you could want so the price felt fair.
Overall - a pleasant stay and we would visit again.

OK big room, but quite old and outdated. Small fridge which was quickly filled though with the possible breakfast option that was left in the room in the evening, so not really any extra space. Breakfast was not like a "normal" hotel, but the choiche of this picnic style menu was fair at the price. Reception closed at 21.00 hours and the hotel that was part of a chinese restaurant generally seemed to be a cheaper choice for workers. But fine for spending 1 night. A bigger parking just outside the hotel, a little deserted in this area.

An exceptionally friendly and well-run, good value B&B in a quiet rural location, close to the lovely Braasemermeer. Judith was very welcoming and provided everything we needed, including valuable advice in an emergency. The room and private bathroom were exceptionally large and comfortable. An ideal place from which to explore the Haarlemmermer lakes, Leiden, and the bulb fields, or for flying from Schipol (although it was perfectly quiet).

The hotel room was spacious and comfortable - including the bathroom.
The view from the windows was great. We were overlooking the gardens.
Surprisingly peaceful and convenient given the seemingly not perfect (in my opinion) location.
The restaurant had a nice menu, and the food was really well made and presented.
The only thing that would have made my stay even better would have been a firmer single king size bed as opposed to two twin beds pushed in together.
Overall - would recommend and consider visiting again.
The Stadsherberg is located practically in the centre of Alphen aan den Rijn, very close to a multitude of shops. A relatively new hotel with an enormous charm, warmth and very friendly staff. We've never before stayed in this town, and I absolutely recommend Stadsherberg as the place to stay. Our room was spacious and we had a veranda. The room had a separate toilet and a bathroom with a great walk-in shower. Bed was very OK, we slept very well, decorations cozy and sweet, breakfast was fabulous too, it was just perfect!
The room was great, I slept better in the bed than any other hotel I've been in recently. The surroundings were lovely. It was quiet and elegant. We were late arriving due to bad traffic, but the front desk was open and helpful. The restaurant was fabulous. The breakfast buffet was delicious. There is a lovely bird park attached to the hotel; hotel guests get free entrance, and extra hours in the evening, when it is quiet and not at all crowded.
Lovely room with beautiful decoration, very clean, with excelent wi-fi and comfortable bed. Excellent location : right in the center of Alphen aan den Rijn, close to major cities and the coast ( especially if you have a car ). Biggest plus of this property is its amazing host : Jan Vic !!! Very kind, friendly, helpful, gave us many useful information and tips. We would definitely stay again and we highly recommend it !!!
Despite of unlike points, facility has paid restaurant is very professional and rich. In fact facility's real bussiness is restaurant and hotel looks like a side bussiness. Airconditioner works well, comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere ensures quality resting. Wifi is slow but ok, 7 mbps. You cannot use it for bussiness. Good cost is biggest advantage. In the middle of Zoetermeer, Leiden and Gouda around 12km each.
Very friendly charming stay in the center of town near the canal, very nice tradition mansion style hotel, people making real effort to help you if you have special requests like leaving early for a sailing competition! Breakfast is fantastic! Dinner is delicious. Do try the house cocktail! Free parking within 5 minutes walking distance.
Good size room and facilities. It is situated above a Chinese restaurant and run by the same team. As there is no staff on site from late evening until 2 pm breakfast is brought to the room the previous evening on a tray with a wide selection, yoghurt, bread, egg etc. Perhaps a bit unusual for a hotel but it seemed to work well
A nice hotel, which was a conference hotel. It is now a hotel with a chinese restaurant. The rooms are very large. The beds are verry comfortable and big. Bathroom is quiete luxurary and has any comfort needed. In the room is coffee or tea available. The hotel is quiet. Free parking.
We were a group of 3 adults, and we have received a spatios room, with a shower and bathttube. The beds are great, there is a coffee and tea machine in the room. There is a huge parking place in front of the hotel. We were offered to visit the park avifauna for.free.
We liked the general feel of the hotel and the staff we met, were generally pleasant and helpful but there were many, perhaps small, drawbacks. Some of these could be improved relatively easily. Breakfast was good and pleasant.
The hotel itself was superb, as were the rooms and the restaurant. A huge and much enjoyed bonus was the adjoining park with lovely grounds and an excellent array of birds and other wildlife.
The hotel surprised is in many ways. The amount of space was luxurious and the beds comfortable. The location also was perfect for our designated travel plans.
