All round, the hotel was a pleasant stay. The staff were welcoming and responsive. The general facility was very good and was kept well maintained. The pools and beach are simply awesome. The fine dining restaurant 'Chefs Table' was wonderful - food was spot on and service great. The 'Chefs Table' trumped other food options at the hotel and I would recommend anybody visiting just stay with this restaurant for dinner.

The location of the hotel makes it an ideal spot for Eagle feeding, which I did! An amazing experience to see 20-30 Eagles overflying my boat hunting the chicken bits thrown in the water. I would recommend anybody doing this to pay for some additional chicken heads/skin to get the Eagles coming in for swooping runs.

This was a great location, it was a 5 minute walk from a small very cheap restaurant on the beach. Then hiring a moped is cheap so you can go to pretty much anywhere on the island in under 45 mins. The host was super friendly and helpful, leaving clear instructions for a smooth self check in!

This is Kedah boonies. Lovely, but... basic. The image above is of some outcrop rocks which, with islands, are visitable by tour boat. Bear in mind a lot of the area is anyway national protected forests. The views and beaches are lovely but sanitation makes swimming questionable. Maybe better up the 4* hotel end if the currents are favourable. Not a huge amount to do but that is part of the charm. Of course plenty of tour$ around if not seeking quiet. We got our wildlife fixes just walking from our hut along the beach SW or along the road to the town, which is admittedly single horse at best. But has its charm. A few street restaurants serving muslim/Thai food and prata. Plus a couple of stores. If Chinese, possibly with beer in the fridge. Car rental looks around 60M$ a day which is not bad, but caveat emptor. Or scooters, but caveat insurance disclaimers. The drivers there seem pretty chill though. Hard to see it as the best for teens, but kids may like it if there's a pool. Lots of wildlife, often noisy, everywhere. Monitor lizards, toucans...

Staff were laid back and did not respond quickly to our requests.If a safe is opened by your technician he should remove the contents and bring it to reception to verify who it belongs to. He cannot assume that it belongs to the present client as it could belong to the previous client as was the case with my friends stolen bag with passports and cash.This is unacceptable for a resort which claims it is 5 star.Stay away from Tanjung rhu.

When I first arrived, I freaked out by the lack of any shops/activity nearby, choice of restaurants etc. By day 2, I LOVED the serenity of the place. There was one restaurant 50 metres away, where I ate every night for a few dollars, opens at 4pm. wo coffee shops, that also served snacks, and a general store about 10 mins walk away. I had a beach to myself for my entire stay! Staying at Red Coral was like being at a retreat. Very comfortable, and very clean basic rooms, hot water shower, great aircon, kettle, fridge. Friendly and helpful staff. I can't wait to return. If you are party person, this is probably NOT the place for you! Get around by using Grab app ... so cheap!

The beach is gorgeous, but we didn't swim in the ocean because of the concern for jellyfish stings. Beach is quite isolated from the rest of the island for most activities, although the mangrove tours launch from the beach, which is very convenient. I wouldn't recommend staying on Tanjung Rhu because of it being far away from other things on the island (30 minutes drive or so), especially with kids.

This is a beautiful, calm ,relaxing location with stunning views. However the hotel is in desperate need of upgrading and repair.
The staff are very friendly and professional which makes your stay pleasant.
Superb hotel and great facilities. We stayed at the Garden View Room Ground Floor. The room was really nice and the bed was so comfy. Plus, the jacuzzi was great. The staff was super friendly and the service was very good. My kids really enjoy the pool and the kids club activities. The breakfast was nice and the view was spectacular. Special thanks to Mr Amirul for being so nice and helpful. My kids still remember you.
The decor is beautiful. It’s such a tranquil environment. The bed is comfy and the rooms have everything you need. The beach bag with the towels and mat is such a nice touch as well as the separate towels for the pool. Also the staff are so friendly and helpful! Location is perfect too and close to Tanjung rhu beach. Scooter rental is convenient and close to the hotel.

The beach is beautiful, the water was warm and the view is magnificent. All the staff are brilliant! Will definitely go back again. Would recommend this place as a chill out retreat. Plenty of water sports to keep you entertained. Years ago I also stayed at their hotel in Sabah and was also impressed. We were a family group of 9 with age range of 7 to 72 and all of us were sad to leave!
A peaceful and tranquil get away! I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. And the staff were very helpful and friendly! The view is overlooking a rice field, you'll see birds too. It's scenic and peaceful. And quiet which I liked. Beaches in Tanjung Rhu are a short motorbike ride away. Thank you so much! I know where I will stay next time in Langkawi! 😊🙏🏽
