Alor Star is a pleasant regional centre with some fine public buildings and an interesting old quarter. The open space in the centre of town with the Zahir mosque on one side and various royal buildings and museums on the other provides some excellent photo opportunities. There is a surprising amount of street art, some of it very good, and a pleasant canal-side walk starting in the centre of town. I came across an excellent night food market with stalls offering a range of local and international dishes.
The Kedah Paddy Museum is billed as one of the attractions of Alor Setar, but I found it a bit disappointing. It is a long way out of town; if you don't have your own transport, getting a taxi or Grab back to the centre could be a lottery.

We enjoyed our lunch at Gulai Temenung Tok Piah Claypot located at Kuala Kedah. Restoran Kak Milah Jitra Kedah has variety of dishes for lunch with gulai ikan keli and ikan bakar. We had our dinner at Man & Milah Medan Selera Ikan Bakar which also located at Jitra, Kedah

I like to stay in Alor Setar because there is so many interesting place to go and explore. The food is so delicious and cheap. the pupils so kind and helpfull. The paddy view is so nice and i will come back again.

Delicious local food. Fresh seafood, Hot & spicy is my favourite especially sambal belacan. perghh powerfull!!
Shopping place - Padang Besar about 1.5km from Alor Setar, Pekan Rabu & Tanjung Dawai (ikan bilis,ikan masin,belacan,pekasam,etc)
Tips : Do the listing of place and make a plan before you go there, sometimes mr google maps will bring you to unexpected way. its will bring you 5 to 6km sawah padi small road (just enough 1 car size) and you will be panic in the paddy bendang. :) :)

Great small town charm, with quite a number of nice Malaysian comfort food restaurants .
After my stay, I would say that all the comments are legit. The cleanliness is superb. The room is spacious compared to other hotel with similar price in Alor Setar. For those looking for hotel near hospital sultanah bahiyah, this is the most recommended place for u.
Location, parking, minimalist hotel(too minimalist tho).
Room is clean, like the flooring, comfortable to my barefeet, feel like a light cushion, possible vinyl type flooring.

The hotel location was in centre of Alor Setar city, nearby the Menara Alor Setar, Aman Central shopping complex, Dataran Alor Setar, walking distance to Kompleks Pekan Rabu in 15 minutes. and also nearby the Masjid Zahir Alor Setar.
I love everything about the Fuller hotel except the lack of high speed internet. I know that their big sister property across the street has no internet issues so it's a mystery why the big boss doesn't upgrade Fuller's system.
Everything about it we love. Big and clean room, great location and very convenient for short trips. We have decided that it is our go to place in Alor Setar. Our second stay and definitely more to come. Thank you Starcity.
I like its location because near the hospital and centre the city alor setar . I can go by walk to the pekan Rabu , Amanjaya Mall , Alor Setar Tower and Masjid Zahir . Also Sultan Kedah Museum are located near the hotel .
The location is strategic, just near the Alor Setar town center & exit highway toll. The nearest stay hotel to the Al-bukhary Mosque & Souq Bukhary also Stadium Darul Aman. The room quiet nice.
This is my fourth time staying at this hotel. Everything is pleasant, the bed is clean, free parking for my car, the location can be consider as central where you can food easily.
They sanitized my luggage & also regularly sanitize the lobby. The staff was friendly. Hotel near Aman Central & convenient shop. View from the room I get is superb.
This is a worse and terrible hotel. The staff are incompetent. The service is bad. The facilities in the room are in bad condition. Everything is bad in this hotel.
