January has perfect weather, very pleasant people visiting, working and living in the area. Lots of stuff to do or not do, if relaxing is your mission. Affordable Taxi or Uber rides can get you to Puerto Vallarta or Bucerias within 30 minutes. Spanish speakers will have no trouble getting around and even those who have a limited understanding will have little trouble as most residents speak english.

Nuevo is nicer than Puerto Vallarta, quiet and peaceful versus the hustle and bustle of touristy Malecon in Vallarta, lots of traffic, noise associated with it etc.
Nuevo is pricier , big money, and affluence in Nuevo area where I stayed. Well groomed walk ways (don't have to worry much about stepping in a hole like Vallarta)- median has walkway for joggers, dog walks, regular walk. Its upscale for sure.

At first I thought it was a little isolated but we realized restaurants etc. were a short ride away.
My husband enjoyed walking in the area and it was easy to walk on the beach or path to Bucerías.
I would definitely stay there again!

Booked for next year already! Learn the bus system or get an uber or taxi if going a further distance

Nuevo Vallarta is mainly huge hotel complexes with their own private beaches with a small ish shopping plaza with a supermarket. The area around mainly caters for middle-high end budgets. Although there us a nice fish restaurant (beach shack type) with mainly mexican food 15 mins walk from the beach on Paseo de la palmas
If you are looking for Mexico, you are not going to find it here...typical American resort if that's tour thing. If not old Puerto Vallarta is by far the better place for 'a bit' of authenticity if you look carefully.
We had a balcony room which was very comfortable and clean. The food was very good and varied; everything was well prepared and the service everywhere was excellent. The lounge and bar service was really excellent. They kept a high energy and spirit of positivity around the pool with music and zumba. The hotel is located on the best part of the beach. The sand is fine and soft with no rocks.
Proximity to the beach and restaurants was great. Friendly folks in the restaurants- Keila at the Mexican restaurant, all the greeters and servers at the buffet, Jon at the Japanese restaurant, bartenders Carlos was amazing, Andres and all the guys at the pool bar were always fun and lovely. Folks in the activity department were also lovely.
The hotel is very nice. I’ve stayed at some 5 star resorts. While this is not one of them it’s very nice. Facilities are cool and immaculate. The room was fantastic. We had a one bedroom suite I think. And it was HUGE. Full kitchen. Two full baths. Tremendous deck. Sort of generic decode but very nice.
Google maps location lists the hotel in a different area. Caused 45minutes of driving around to locate the property. Please address this. It caused inconvenience and stress. Uber also took me to the wrong place on a separate occasion.
I liked the hotel it was clean and comfortable it just needs some tlc but overall was great. My kids really enjoyed it. Beds and pillows super comfy loved that. Food was good too.
I did like the setting, on the beach, palm trees. I liked the adults pool. Most of the staff were very friendly but I was not impressed with the front desk/reception staff.
