It’s the perfect balance between nature and comfort. It is positioned alongside one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen and the huts are hidden among trees- making you feel like you’re staying in a tropical forest. The resort offers lots of services. The food is high quality and the staff are very attentive. The pictures online don’t do justice to the place. It’s more than a resort, it’s a unique vibe.

The location is spectacular, the staff are all so helpful and nice. The woman manager went above and beyond to organise tours or transport and help us enjoy our stay. The ability to see whales from the terrace was magical.
The food is excellent with an extensive lunch and dinner menu.
Room was large and comfortable, anti mosquito plugins and sensible nets were standard.
The hotel has a group of giant tortoises as well which were fun to see.

Our host was extremely welcoming and helped organise days out etc. The natural pool is safe for a gentle swim and there is great snorkelling as soon as you leave its shelter. Food was excellent and the gardens are a delight.

The view from the pool is absolutely stunning! It's in a great location - about 10 minutes walk from the port and the centre of town where you can find the tuk tuks. The staff were very welcoming throughout our stay and breakfast was really good! The staff were also very helpful - when they couldn't serve an early breakfast, they told us where we could go instead. They were also able to provide information for our next destination. AMEX is accepted. We'll be returning!

Breathtaking beauty...once you get there.
Breathtaking beauty...once you get there. Access to the island can be tedious and exhausting, but once you are there, you forget everything about the travel.
Plenty of things to do from the North of the island to the South.
The best periods to come are either July-September (to be able to see the humpback whales) or November-December (though it can be quite rainy).

If there is a storm - and not boats leave to St Marie - for 4 days - and you loose all the money for the hotel - at least at Masoandro Lodge.
This makes it very unsure to book a trip to this stormy east coast of Madagaskar... Beware of that...
Ambience in tropic paradise, kind staff, Delicious breakfast and dinner. Perfectly organised trip with great guide Jonathan ( thank you Jonathan for little school of botanics) free shutlle to airport, and above all, very kind and capable manager of Lakana hotel. She was so kind and solve all our problrms and wishes immediatly. It was a pleasure to be Lakana hotel guest.
Quite and Peaceful location in the middle of the island. Easy to reach all parts of the island with a quad or scooter.
Friendly and Hospitable owners Bertrand and Catherine helped to arrange/rent quad and scooters for our trips within the island and provided snorkelling glasses and footwear for snorkelling while staying in Hotel.
Certainly one of the best places to stay in Sainte Marie, very helpful and kind staff with English language available, excellent restaurant with very good quality meals provided, frequently cleaned bungalows with all the amenities needed, spectacular beach front and extra services by requests, this is all for a reasonable price
