I think it is a really vacationable location.
I think it is a really vacationable location. Do not walk around in the midday heat, it is not a very wooded place. Especially at night, the inside of the castle will make you very happy. Don't forget to eat slice pizza, I think it was very successful.

Busy in May, esp in the town.
Busy in May, esp in the town. Beautiful views and an enjoyable place to visit. If you like cats, there's a little, cool cat museum and a place/park in town that TNRs cats. People can purchase kibble to feed the cats that hang out there.
Our taxi driver was kind, amazing, and affordable! I wish I could remember his name! (There's one company-Eurotaxi- that several locals we asked recommended. They told me the others regularly scam tourists.)
Of course, I would try to avoid the plethora of tourist restaurants in the old town center. (I was starving and gave in and grabbed a pizza. Blech.)
If you're a foodie and want to try something special, La Ricetta will treat you like royalty!

A beautiful old walled town with Venetian influences.
A beautiful old walled town with Venetian influences. Plenty of restaurants to relax in while admiring the beautiful churches and squares. The maritime museum is a must. A hike up to the fortress is rewarded with spectacular views across the bay.
We had a pram / stroller and it was very accessible (although the old streets are quite bumpy and most shops have one or two steps to enter)

Kotor is one of the nicest town in Montenegro. A UNESCO world heritage site. The views are nice and the Old town is charming. There are so many activities to do: boat tours, day tours to nearby towns like Cetinje, Budva and Tivat.

Kotor is magically beautiful, both the Old Town and the setting in the Bay of Kotor. It is, however, seriously overtouristed. Loads of people coming off cruise ships make the narrow alleys of the old town almost impassable.... the place is best early in the morning or late at night. The climb up to the fortress is great. Most of the restaurants serve pseudo-Italian food which is not of the highest quality. Self-catering may be best! Kotor is not cheap by comparison with other places.
First of all a special thank to receptionist Cristina. She is very professional, smiling and friendly. Location is great. Very close to the old town but away from its crowd and close to the main bus station of Kotor. Close to the supermarket. Thank to the cleaning staff, the hostel is simply shining. I could leave my luggage after check out till the departure time of my bus. We could use AC the way we want. Toilet and showers are enough and very clean. Whenever in Kotor I choose to stay at the Hostel Pupa.
Breakfast was fine. Veranda overlooking the waterfront. This is a small, 2 star dated hotel and the room was small and spartan. No chair but had a TV with international stations, few in English. Many German stations. Air conditioning worked well thankfully. Room was 2nd floor with window next to hotel sign. This was actually quaint and as I expected since I was there only a day and night. 8 minute drive to Kotor and parked in the public parking space next to the old town.,
We travelled from Split down to Kotor and other cities in Montenegro, and Zelijko’s apartment was by far the best accommodation we had on this trip. Zelijko gave us plenty of information immediately after booking and very detailed instructions how to reach the property. The apartment is pristine and has everything you need. The view from the little terrace is spectacular and it is just a short walk from the old town. We recommend this accommodation full heartedly.
The property was superbly located in a quiet but convenient part of old town and had wonderful updated facilities. Irena also went above and beyond as a host! She made our stay in Kotor so special. She helped us book dinner reservations and even went out of her way to help us prepare a box we wanted to ship home with things so we didn’t have to take up extra space traveling. She was also extremely kind and friendly. Don’t hesitate to book!
The location was really good, accessible from Kotor old town with the bus, but still enough distance from the crowd to ensure a good night sleep. Size of room is also adequate for solo traveller. Furthermore, the hotel personnels are also helpful, they communicate everything and let the guests know the important stuffs. They are all nice people and this hotel deserves more visitors!
Host was super friendly and kind! Apartment was clean and comfy. Nice apartment where we found everything we needed. Very good location. 10 minutes walk to Kotor old town and 7 minutes to the beach.
There are a lot of stairs like in every city in Montenegro, which didn't bother us.
Quiet and calm area. Price/ quality ratio was really good😊
Thanks for the accommodation!
The location was perfect in the small old town of Kotor. Staff were helpful in answering all of my questions. Facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable. It was not busy when I went (early May), and I ended up having the 6 bed dormitory to myself the vast majority of my stay. Air conditioning worked and was effective, which was nice as I sleep hot.
Our stay here was fantastic: a spare room with all amenities, beautiful view, a spot not far from the old town. Jakuzzi on the roof.
The owner Nikola was very friendly and supportive, we arrived on a rainy weather and he provided us with the umbrella.
It’s not our first time in Kotor, and this hotel was the best so far. Highly recommend!
The owner sent clear instructions for check in and answered our questions over WhatsApp as it was a public holiday in Montenegro. The room was so lovely and spacious with an amazing view from the windows, and it was in a beautiful part of the Old Town about 2 min walk from North Gate. They provided cold water fountain which was nice.
Antika guesthouse was absolutely perfect for our first visit to Montenegro. The room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed.
Location was amazing - in the heart of the old town and the staff at Antika couldn’t be more helpful.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip & Antika Guesthouse was a huge part of this.
Location. Right in old town, close to everything. Air conditioner worked perfectly. The breakfast was very nice as well. Frigobar to put drinks. We could pay online (most of the places I saw in Montenegro accepted cash only). The bed and pillow were comfortable. In June it was not very noisy, even for the location.
Very social hostel, easy to meet people, right next to the beach, and they always have day and night activities going on, the volunteers are always amazing, and of course Djordje (f*ck you), and just a short walk from the old town
Easily the best hostel of my whole trip, this is the place to stay in Montenegro
The staff was super nice and helpful. There's a coffee machine in the hallway to start your day along we a refrigerator. The hotel location is excellent, close to the main gate of the old town. We did laundry using the hotel's washer and dryer. It was a pleasant stay.
Everything, food, staff, rooms, location
Simply Perfection. Best hotel in Kotor, staff are the nicest kindest, amazing hospitality… highly recommended if you would like to stay in old town and enjoy piazza and the culture of old town of Kotor
Very nice apartment, modern decor, comfortable beds, about a 15/20 minute walk from the old town of Kotor, taxi to the old town from the apartment is roughly 2/3 euros, onsite parking which is great for Montenegro
Great location with lovely views across the bay to Kotor old town. Anya and the other staff members were very friendly and helpful. The pool was perfect. Food in the hotel was lovely. A great stay.
Right next to old town and hiking trails. Gorgeous view from the big balcony. Hosts were super friendy and helpful! Nice small hotel to enjoy the time in the beautiful city of Kotor.
Very well located in the middle of old town KOTOR, super well equipped with everything that you need and the host was super nice and helpful, highly recommend staying here
