The place was clean and well situated - just a few minutes by walk to the park and city center. All what we needed was there (especially AC). The owner was nice and welcoming. What more, he gave us breakfest for free. We would choose the same :)

I was visiting friends which made my experience different from if I had visited without purpose. Cahul is pretty and is walkable, but there is little in the way of tourism. There are many restaurants and coffee shops. There is a regional museum with dedicated docents and a good curator. There are recreational opportunities outside of the city. Renting a car is suggested. Cahul is a quiet, good-value city to consider as a base to explore the region.
