Beautiful location, in the hills, a 10 minute taxi drive from the centre of Chefchaouen. A taxi should cost 20 dirham but generally they charge 30 ( still very cheap!).

We went in August so it was hot but not crowded at all.
We went in August so it was hot but not crowded at all. The hassle level was very, very low and most people who engaged us were really nice and genuinely interested. A guy wanted 6 euros for helping us park and we didn't bother arguing as that's nothing really for 2 days. It's a safe place and nothing was going to ever happen to our hire car. The guy at the hotel was really helpful too. The town doesn't disappoint, it's beautiful and photogenic but our favourite place was up at the waterfalls at the top of town where about a million oranges lie floating in cool water waiting to become your new favourite drink. We ate at Asaada both nights and loved it.

We loved our hotel and I had always wanted to come here but I wished we would have skipped it. We ran into two people who scammed us. While about half of the animals on the street seemed ok, the suffering cats and dogs were heartbreaking. There were quite a few with open wounds and kittens that looked dehydrated or starving. we’ve been to Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, Essaouira and tangier but we felt the least comfortable walking at night in Chefchaouen.
The town is a great background for instagram photos but seems to be all about selling stuff and trying to take advantage of tourists. It’s hard to get to as well. If you have limited time in Morocco I’d skip it.

Chefchaouene is a beautiful mountain village with friendly people and just emerging in its tourism. We had the most incredible traditional hammam at Riad Cherifa. There was a sense of culture and tradition without the intensity of the big cities like Fes and Marrakesh. If you are visiting Morocco this was one of our highlights.

A ridiculously picturesque city with a quaint Médina to stroll though. An afternoon, dinner, one night and breakfast is likely enough time to explore the area. There are lots of hills/stairs so might not be ideal for people with mobility issues.

It is a more laid back place compared with where we had come from in Morocco ie. the bustling city of Fez -So we instantly felt more relaxed! We mostly enjoyed exploring by walking at our own pace in this pretty town in the mountains. We enjoyed views from rooftops and from the top of the Kasbah. We had good meals- one at the main square a restaurant called Twins which was great for people watching and to see the entertainers! Also the other restaurant we went to twice was called Cafe Clock where there was live music every night and the staff were very helpful and interested in chatting with us..
To experience Chefchaouene, Torre Hadra is the perfect location. Close to the gate of the Madena, with lots of resteraunt options around the hotel, made it the perfect place to staf. Staff were exceptional, helping us to enjoy our stay. Beautiful rooms, modern and comfortable - looks like recently renovated and done well. Big comfortable rooms and rooftop views are to die for! Will be back for another stay soon!
The host, Idriss, was one of the kindest people we met in Morocco. He gave us advice on where to eag and what to do and always seemed happy. The hotel is in a very central part of the medina, just a few metres of a main street, which makes it very quiet but still very convenient too with everything close by.
The hotel is amazing and ismail is the most amazing person what we meat here in morocco!
He will suport you with everything.
The hotel has a very good location in the old city and its very calm.
