My family and I had a truly happy and memorable time staying at Hill Safari. The cosy, lodge-style hotel enjoys a spectacular location, high up in green, lush mountains. Eomal and his team were incredibly helpful and kind, making us feel very welcome. We were treated to great breakfast and dinner - tasty, local food - and Eomal gave us lots of suggestions for walks in the area. He also kindly collected us from the station and drove us up to Horton Plains. There are comfortable places to sit out in the beautifully-tended garden, and we enjoyed the wonderful views, and being so close to nature. It was an unforgettable end to our month in Sri Lanka, and we were very sad to leave!

Amazing stay, we felt very welcome by Muthu and her family from the moment we arrived, their place felt like a home away from home. Will happily come back anytime.

The location is placed in a very quiet neighborhood and the road to the property is very scenic. As for the amenities, its worth for the price tag and the staff is very helpful as well. Also you can order meals from the alacarte menu which is pretty reasonably priced.
Almost everything. Location was close to Horton Plains and the owners arranged a tuk tuk ride for a nominal fee. Lovely surrounding. Food was tasty and ample given. Really worth it. Owners were friendly and made the guests feel at home.

Ohiya is a place definitely worth to go.
Ohiya is a place definitely worth to go. Horton Plains are absolutely gorgeous, but even the unusual forests around Ohiya, birds, other animals and all the plants (especially flowers and coniferous species) are worth to see. We loved the mysterious weather, hot mornings, misty afternoons or evenings, and beautiful nights with distant thunderstorms. This place is fabulous and we wish to come back again.
Best restaurant for us was staying at Muthu Nisindi in Forest Cyniciam Holiday Bungalow. And her husband Mahinda took care of us with his tuk-tuk, being always on time, always prepared to stop to show us an an animal or answer question or wish.
We definitely recommend animal watching around the village, walks in forest, eating all the food you can and going to Horton Plains at least for two days to hike through all the paths available, we managed to do just 2 hikes and will come back once to see the rest.
The staff was really helpful, they helped organizing the transport to Horton's Plains and provided tuk tuk transport from train station. There is an option to buy a dinner, which is super convienient, because in Ohiya there are no restaurants.
The stay was great! The stuff is really friendly and we liked the food there. The railway station is nearby and the hike to the World‘s End is worth it! We would recommend this location to everyone.
(By the way: the view is beautiful)
Great place to stay in Ohiya. Close to Horton plains.
Incredible views. Very calm place.
Friendly people. Nice meals.
I can recommend to stay st least 2 nights to take advantage of the great hikes in the area.
I’m very happy that I decided to stay at this homestay. The owners are extremely nice and supportive, the place feels like home and I think it’s the best place to stay in Ohiya :)
