Intouch Riverside Hotel, hotel in Pakse

Set in Pakse, less than 1 km from Pakse Bus station, Intouch Riverside Hotel offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and an outdoor swimming pool.

I liked the fact that everyone at the reception spoke good English. They were all so nice, organised transportation for a tour we wanted to do (everything was done and confirmed in minutes!), the laundry was quick. The room was spacious and the beds comfy. Enough space to store our luggage. Location close to everything :)

Pakse is a small, dirty town without a clear center.

Pakse is a small, dirty town without a clear center. Few good restaurants, and few people speak English. You have to have a scooter to get anywhere. There are interesting places in the area but not many of them are properly developed. Rather, their best years are behind them. On my next visit to Pakse would like to avoid Pakse city.

Unfortunately I was only in Pakse for 1 night. The city has lots to do and lots to offer, however isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing. Many come here to do the Pakse loop which is supposed to be great.

Pakse is slow and peaceful that is suitable for those who want to have a travel with slow-paced. Sitting and chilling on the banks of Mekong river where is the border between Laos and Thailand. You could feel the great of nature.

I have been to Pakse a number of times, it backs onto the majestic Mekong River. I can thoroughly recommend both the Champasak Grand Hotel and the Pakse Hotel. There is a lovely market located in the centre of the town where you can buy nearly anything.

Decent restaurants and good to get convenience items, but not much to do directly in the town. Good hub for day-trips via motorcycle or tour, but expect to get really dirty if you do them via motorcycle as only the very largest of the main roads are paved outside of the town. Not much nature nearby, all flat areas have been cleared and converted to farmland. It takes a bit of work to get to areas with a bit of nature, but it's nice once you do so. Once you're out of the town the small villages vary from somewhat picturesque and mostly traditional to modern cement. Definitely worth exploring the countryside via motorcycle. Waterfalls are nice, but can be a bit crowded (by local standards).

We chose the more expensive 4,000 island tour expecting to see more. We spent 5 minutes at 2 waterfalls, which are impressive, in an 11 hour day and that was it! The rest of the day, 10hrs and 50 minutes was spent waiting for, or sitting on, old buses and vans. The much cheaper Bolonan plateau would have shown us villages, crafts and agriculture and been much better.

Everything was perfect. At the front desk Laa (not sure about the spelling of her name) was really kind, professional and helpful. Room was pretty, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool was very nice and clean. Breakfast had a lot of choices. Hotel is 10 minutes walking from the city centre but the hotel can book a tuktuk for you for 30-40000 kip one way, to the airport 70000 kip one way and to the big buddha with the temple on the top of the mountain 200000 kip round trip with time to take pictures, do not miss it !

We had a fantastic stay and Tina is a really wonderful host. She is so energetic and full of ideas what you can do in Pakse and area around the city. The guesthouse is situated in a simple residential area. Don't be misled by the first impression of the small road. The area is sage and people are friendly. There are authentic day and night food markets in walking distance, a shopping mall is nearby and Tina will help you book buses or rent a motorbike. We felt very much at home. Thank you Tina!

Romantic colors, beautiful building wish I can visit again, a nice guesthouse near a local market, a gas station and a mall at the real center. Clean rooms, a lot of chairs to sit outside the rooms. Tina sells exceptional delicious Laotian food. The grocery store is near. You don’t have to struggle to get anything for your basics. Tuktuk taxi tour recommendations are very amazing! Tina the superstar host who helps your requests very often. Please visit heaven guesthouse for a lovely experience.

was in a perfect location, and Xavier and his Wife were the best hosts. The room was also lovely and clean and the bed was very comfy! They sorted our motorbike rental in advanced for the pakse loop and gave us lots of information for it. They let us leave our bags while we did the loop and even did our washing for us whilst we were away! The breakfast was also amazing and some of the best fresh bread we have had in Laos

A great hostel to stay in Pakse. We met good friends there and stayed in the same room as them. It was 2 bunk beds in the room so not too busy. The beds were comfortable and had everything you need including a socket light and curtain. The bathrooms were shared but were always kept clean. You can play pool downstairs and arnt too far to walk to nice restaurants. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help.

Truly the nicest accommodation I’ve had in Laos (and probably the nicest hostel I’ve been to ever). Everything is designed thoughtfully: spacious and comfortable beds with curtains and shelves, a clean bedroom and bathroom, plenty of space for everyone and their luggage, air con, etc. The owner is incredibly kind as well. Absolutely recommend, I was sad to only spend a night in Pakse

The breakfast buffet was small but gave a wide variety of options. I got to try some Laotian food I have never had. They also had western options. The sky bar was a nice way to end each night. In the room, the beds were big and soft! Lastly, the staff was friendly and helped us out as much as they could. Definitely staying here again when I visit Pakse.

This hotel looks a little run down and the room was quite bare, so we were apprehensive on arrival. But the staff were fantastic and the view was amazing. The restaurant overlooking the river was a real highlight. We had a lovely afternoon by the pool and a very reasonably priced dinner. Staff did everything they could to make our stay perfect.

Phoud help me with her own money. I will try the way to give her back when I back to Laos at soonest. Love from Mirror, VietNam.
