Very nice city with a town spirit. Burning season was hot but very good regarding air pollution and sight views, not crowded at all with great prices opportunities. Sunsets here are wonderful in any place and it´s ideal to walk to every place. Many free temples with monks living in them and markets very active with the best food. Chill mood but at the same time people from all over the world interacting with locals.

I just loved Luang Prabang.
I just loved Luang Prabang. The centre is a one in a million type place. Some people might dismiss it as touristy because there are so many guest houses and gift shops, but the shops are also wonderful shops and the glory of the place is that it is completely infused with spirituality and in particular Buddhism. One of the best things you could possibly do is to attend one of the numerous morning almsgiving ceremonies around 6 am. The food market in the centre of town is fantastic and the night market right beside it is just as good. Luang Prabang is an 11 out of 10 type of place .

Laung Prabang is easily reached from Vientiane by the China/Laos high-speed train - we made our booking through 12Go Asia - simple to book with e-tickets emailed back to you.
Note: Train tickets only go on sale 3 days before the day of travel and sell out quickly - no turning up on the day and hoping to buy a ticket like you can in the Western world - planning ahead and booking early is essential.
Also note that aerosols and liquid sprays are forbidden on the train (bags are x-rayed and manually searched on entering the train station) - no spray deodorants, perfumes or insect repellents - they will be confiscated!!

I loved the town of Luang Prabang!
I loved the town of Luang Prabang!
The town is just big enough to plenty of things to discover and see.
I suggest getting up early before 10 AM because it gets very hot after that. The town then becomes alive around 6PM, after the heat of the sun is gone.
I like renting a scooter to get around, but the town is easily walkable.
There are masses and masses of Chinese tourists, which can sometimes be disrespectful during the Alms Giving ceremony. I found many of them a bit disrespectful of the ceremony & turned it into a bit of a circus with cameras everywhere, shouting, talking, crossing in front of the monks. Sad. But it’s still a beautiful occasion to witness.

Luang Prabang has a unique feel, which is reflected in its status since 1995 as a UN World Heritage site. This means that the historic centre is being both preserved and renovated. The city is in a stunning location, set among mountains and at the confluence of two rivers, and has plenty of French colonial buildings. Every restaurant we went to served wonderful food, both Laotian and western, and had very friendly service. I will go back for a longer visit as soon as I can.
This has been our most comfortable room and best bathroom we’ve had in Thailand and Laos so far. The manager Steve was incredibly helpful, they helped us book train tickets and we were able to easily rent a scooter from the hotel. when we checked in, Steve gave us a welcome juice and walked us through a map with a perfect itinerary for seeing all local points of interest. breakfast was delicious, they provide laundry service, and I’m getting it’s a perfect location. We’ll definitely stay here the next time we’re in Luang Prabang.
The hotel is charming, in a wonderfully restored villa with quirky architectural details. The room was spacious, quiet and the bed very comfortable but the best thing was the staff who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and help with anything I needed, they were really amazing, particularly Phout who accompanied me to buy an extra suitcase. The breakfasts were varied and delicious with a great choice of local dishes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are going to Luang Prabang.
Great room overlooking lily pond.
Good breakfast over looking pond (we fed the fish with our toast!), honey and chocolate spread also provided which most hotels we stayed at didn't offer. Nice small swimming pool.
Staff spoke good English and helped organise trip to waterfall. The staff were delightful and we got welcome drink and fruits on arrival, as well as afternoon drink if at hotel. They also provided a map of Luang Prabang and gave information of places to visit and nearest supermarket.
This was a great little hotel choice to stay in at Luang Prabang. It has very nice rooms and a well maintained pool in it. Location wise, it is close to the night markets, cafes and restaurants. They are within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance away. My stay was made even better by Khun, the hotel manager and his staff who were excellent and friendly in arranging trips and transport to the railway station! Breakfast was excellent and they is a variety of choices you can have for it.
Location was only a short walk from the centre one way and the Mekong River the other. Night market around the corner and morning vegetable market outside the front of hotel. The staff, Tom and his female helpers were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample and taken under the umbrellas in the garden. The Luang Prabang night food and drink market was only a 5 minute walk away. BeerLao on draft in pleasant surroundings with friends is most enjoyable.
I had a great stay here! The location was perfect, walking distance from everything in the Old Quarter and right between the river and the main street. My room was quite large especially for a solo traveller and very good value. The family that runs the guesthouse is very sweet and helpful. The laundry service was the quickest I’ve experienced so far. definitely recommend this guesthouse if you’re planning a trip to Luang Prabang!
Le Sen is a true boutique hotel where design, true customer care, and high value for money go hand in hand.
The hotel is just outside the historic center of Luang Prabang with a scenic and easy walk, but for those who prefer free shuttle service is provided. Service is outstanding with à la carte breakfast, tasteful snacks, and personalized assistance. Staff and management take the well-being of their guests seriously

Perfect hotel for Luang Prabang! A haven of peace in the middle of the city! The staff are very attentive and always there to smile at you or suggest things to do. The rooms are comfortable, the pool is outstanding, the spa high-quality, the food excellent, and the location perfect. So don't hesitate to book here! The boat trip on the Mekong with the hotel was amazing, you must do it!
enjoyed my stay very much. the room overlooking river is very quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is of 5 star standard and very enjoyable.
I arrived very tired and the manager gave me a cold beer that I have to say was just want I wanted and set off the stay beautifully.
Rented a scooter to get about that was arranged from hotel.
Building and setting is gorgeous and a perfect location to experience Luang Prabang. It’s close to just about everything and is an easy place to return to midday for a rest and beverage.

The location by the Khong River and next to Chieng Thong temple is unbeatable. All the staffs are very helpful and enthusiastic. The hotel buildings is a nicely renovated old house complex, a great asset to Luang Prabang old town.
The property is very eclectic. The bohemian use of mixed fabric and colours is interesting. The food at the restaurant is 5 star. The staff are the best part about this place. Each one was a delight to interact with.
