I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that I stayed longer! City is very well connected; I traveled from Busan with a train (45min) and then took a flight from Daegu to Jeju Island (1,5hr), both were very easily manageable. I wish I had more time here because the city was beautiful. It was very clean, new looking, the historic buildings/places looked well taken care of and most importantly, the PEOPLE! I traveled solo and I've been to 9 different cities in Korea and I feel like people here were the kindest. I don't expect anyone to help me with a suitcase, find the right bus stop etc, but people here just offered their help without me asking. It felt very nice as I haven't experienced this in other cities unless I asked for help. In general, people in Korea were extremely friendly and accommodating but I could definitely feel a difference between Seoul and Daegu for example.
There seems to be a lot to do from museums, galleries, shopping to parks and hiking; and the city is somewhat walkable, but in general, I find the buses in Korea very reliable and easy to use. There is also a metro which I haven't used but it's going across the whole city.
If you do not speak Korean or do not read Hangul, I wouldn't stress as it seemed like everyone in Daegu (regardless of their age) spoke English very well.
I didn't get a chance to try lot of local food options as I am vegetarian, which was a struggle in Korea sometimes, however there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan places here.
I will definitely spend more time in Daegu next time I visit Korea as I fell in love!

I was charged double for my stay.
I was charged double for my stay. Both charges were made on my credit card in advance of my arrival. Booking.com indicated that my credit card was added to the booking simply to hold the room in advance. I reserved the rooms for myself and 2 colleagues anticipating that my colleagues would be able to pay for themselves for their portion of the bill once we arrived. Now I have a big mess to fix at work Reimbursements for this visit will be comlicated and depend on the honestly of my colleagues whose rooms were charged to my visa card. I'm really disappointed that the hotel insisted on charging my card not only before our arrival, but TWICE before our arrival. I don't know why this booking has completely disappeared from my account in Booking.com either. So there seems to be no way now for me to contact the hotel owner/manager about this problem (of double charges). I will never use this site or this hostel again.

It's a provincial city and as such is less exposed to foreign interaction. The people are very accommodating and understanding of this.
The parks and riverside walks are breathtaking. The temples are profound.

The business owners we met really cared and converse easily about a wide range of topics so we felt welcomed. The quality and price of the goods was excellent. Public transport was convenient and fast, we went to the temple 50 kms away by bus and it was a short jaunt to Busan by train. We liked the museums and historical artifacts in the parks. The markets were eye candy.

We went to Daegu to see the red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo leaves. We found The Keimyung University (KMU), Daegu a very good site for seeing these autumn leaves, especially when these trees were growing by the side of the beautiful buildings of the university. It is also very convenient to get there since it is right by the side of a subway station.
We also went to Palgongsan, where the scenery with the autumn leaves was also amazing.
The hotel is a little far from the center of Daegu, but this depends on your intention for tourism in the city. The hotel is great, large and comfortable room, clean and with lots of amenities. Fair price, free parking and breakfast included in the rate. We intend to return to enjoy more of the local region, which surprised us in terms of its cleanliness and leisure options.
It was in the perfect location. My friends and I visited Daegu for the Vector Dj Festival so the hotel was central for us to still go downtown after. There is a subway line close to the hotel and many shops and cafes in the area. You can walk around and find many shops, restaurants and cafes. If you looking for an affordable hotel and best location, check out this place!
the room is really spacious and super clean. staff are nice and trying to help. room is really really clean. I am very impressed with this (stayed four nights). lending out iPhone chargers and adapters. It is a very modern hotel, with touch pads controlling lights and air conditioning near the bed and also USB charging. the hallway is also maintained super well.
The hotel was very clean, unique, and had plenty of space for our family of five. The rooms had a mini fridge, large bathroom, computers to game on, and two TVs. We loved it!
The only downside is the location is a ways from downtown and the breakfast had minimal selection. That being said, the breakfast area was stocked and clean everyday
This property was super clean, the rooms were spacious & spotless. The facilities like the gym and pool were closed due to COVID but it’s still an excellent hotel. Starbucks & subway less than a minute walk from the facility. Great location near the center of Daegu, can see the Ferris Wheel from hotel. Staff was super nice & accommodating.
we love everything. we love big tv, massages chair, ironing box. This is the best value hotel we ever stay in life. With the amount we paid , we did not expect to get this much in return. Absolutely recommend if you are looking for a comfortable place after a long day. Book for a hotel but feel like it is a home away from home.
Only stayed one day but from what I see is that we had everything we needed. It was bigger than I thought actually. Ofc it's not like a 5 star hotel but it'd more than enough if you want to stay at low budget. Check-in and out was no problem
The pool was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. There was even air purifier and a refresher for clothes! Not to mention hair dryer and kettle. Great style of the hotel, very nice and helpful staf
This hotel room was very comfortable. Bed was great, room was more spacious than typical in Korea, parking was easy. Excellent value. Will stay there again. Also minutes from airport.
The cleanliness was excellent. Room service was done daily. It located in downtown Daegu so it was perfect to move around during the day and at night with no concerns about transport.
Comfortable homestay in an apartment on the outskirts of Daegu. Host speaks English which is a plus in Korea. He also made good recommendations for dinner options nearby.
After my US government hotel (Camp Walker) had a cockroach, I needed somewhere else to stay. Anywhere. The Ariana hotel had rooms that were far nicer for far cheaper.
