I'd like to first thank the staff. Due to the recent typhoon causing transport issues, they were able to kindly arrange extended stay for us. And they also patiently helped us sort through our call to the next hotel to change check-in dates.
Public/private bathrooms, breakfast and bedding I found all to be good. Our room had a good view from the window.
The location is good if you are looking for somewhere to relax, away from the busier cities.
We went to a couple of small tea houses and cafe/restaurants around the area. Uji has a local matcha factory, so I recommend at least trying one of the tea shops if you are interested.
In Uji, it's quiet but the locals in restaurants seem quite happy for friendly chats.

Great sized room and had a paid carpark we could come and go from easily. Fresh towels daily and rubbish removal. Awesome ramen restaurant straight across the road. Was a little bit of a walk to Kyoto station and short drive to Fushimi Inari. Coin laundry was handy.

Great hotel with music and cool vibe theme. Record player in the room. Nice and quiet place not far from Kyoto station and kujo subway station. Lovely staff. Free juice 5-9pm and 1 free ice cream per day with some great flavours
I arrived at the hotel 2 hours before check in time completely soaked, hoping I could drop my bags off at least so I could move freely. The owner was really nice and let me check in early.
- Really nice owner and staff, who possess basic English
- Room was much spacier than I expected, I had 3 beds all to myself, as well as a table, clothes rack, TV, etc
- Kitchen area fulfilled my needs for 1 night
- Toilet rooms were clean
- Hibike Euphonium art on the walls
- Location is perfect for Uji
Clean and well set up place to stay. We found a local restaurant around the corner and had a great time in a local area.
Super clean and Host lovely. We took a taxi from station to Uji Tea Inn as it was so hot.
We walked to station the next day around 10 mins.
- located on the beautiful grounds of Uji
- a lovely experience in a traditional house with futons & yakatas
- kaiseki dinner & Japanese breakfast was great
- onsen was great
The location is very good, 5min walk from Uji station. The room is newly furnitured. The hotel is also close to several good restaurants and sightseeing spots.
