Kobe has always been very foreigner friendly.

Kobe has always been very foreigner friendly. Japan used to be expensive but it is so cheap now compared to my home country. I used to live in Kobe Japan but left 14 years ago. I haven’t been back for 7 years. Prices haven’t changed since before I left. It was so reasonable to shop, eat and drink. I had dentistry done at 20% of my home country New Zealand Kobe is my second home.

Often overlooked in favour of its neighbour, Osaka, Kobe is an absolute gem of a city. It has a multitude of attractions, from the port and harbourside parks to the wonderful Nunobiki herb garden and hillside hikes on the other side of the city, to the old foreign merchants houses in Kitano Ijinkan-gai and the Motomachi and Sannomiya entertainment and shopping areas, there's a huge amount to see and do in Kobe. We gorged ourselves on amazing food, saw historic houses, enjoyed walking through nature, enjoyed food markets and took a harbourside tour. Bakery RIKI near our accommodation in Motomachi sold the most amazing pastries and Nankin-machi (Chinatown) had a wonderful, crowded, hectic atmosphere with hundreds of stalls selling cheap, absolutely delicious food. We will definitely visit Kobe again.

This is a little nicer than the standard business hotel offering in Japan. It is clean and confortable as you would expect but it had the odd extra touch that was nice. The room was a little larger than some (although still small by European standards), and that includes the bath as well as the bedroom, and I liked the drip coffee machine rather than the normal Nescafe offering. It also has quite a lot of ammenities on offer such as bikes to rent. I didn't use any of these, but I can see that could be a nice option.

Very friendly and helpful staff, both at reception and in the breakfast area. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. Bathroom amenities were good. I appreciated the humidifier. And not having carpet was great for a change. The breakfast was pretty good for a Japanese hotel. Very tasty. Good selection. Asking every day whether I needed the room cleaned or towels changed was very eco. Makes sense to me. The ‘English’ touch to the hotel was homely.

The location is very convenient, just 3 mins walk from Sannomiya station. Though the room is not spacey (which is typical in Japan), it has everything needed for a business trip. What's more, I really love the smart TV with which I can watch YouTube and Netflix. This is definitely a plus. Overall I really enjoy the short stay here and now it is my first choice in Kobe when it comes to business trip.

A 800 year old traditional Ryokan with amazing mineral spring bath onsen. The futon beds were lush and comfy, the room was very large and the dinner and breakfasts were exceptionally delicious. The building was well made and very well kept up. The staff was gracious and went every extra mile to be the best hosts. So glad we stayed here on our first trip to Japan.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was a decent size for Japan. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. This stay was a highlight of our 3 week trip to Japan. As a clueless British family we were quite nervous about trying the onsen experience which seemed to have a lot of rules.
