It is a small town that offers a nice beach and some good restorants. It is perfect for relaxing a few days after the tour of the big cities. The first thing you notice is the absence of noise and then the blue sea fills your eyes and you feel peace hugging you.

We went during the winter season in February and it was good weather and an enjoyable stay! We were able to see the cherry blossoms! We saw komuroyama, the volcano omuroyama, did the jogasaki trail, went to kawazu to see the cherry blossoms, the imaihama beach where I definitely recommend to take a bike to go the beach!
I also recommend taking a day-pass at Ito station where you can take as much as you want the subway. However, for the mountains you have to take the buses so use your pasmo / suica card or cash. And it is also important to have a lot of cash on you because a lot of places take only cash.

I made a round trip along Ito coast. The west side is a rural area with its natural beauty and rocky beach well preserved. Not many people and houses, which fit my preference well. The east side boasts some world class white sand beaches, gorgeous rocky cliff view and small islands.

We needed more time!
We needed more time! We loved the coastline and beautiful beaches, the hikes and attractions. You need to be careful with transportation if you don't have a car: make sure you know what buses and trains you are taking in advance. If I could do it again, I would stay longer and rent a car.

City is charming, friendly and efficient people at the restaurants and shops. Safe to walk at night, my kids enjoyed the beach, and of course Jonathon’s restaurant.
Ate lunch at fresh fish restaurant, swam in the ocean in September, and enjoyed the outdoor large spa onsen.
My recommendation is K’s Guesthouse.
Available message at the outdoor spa too!

Food is delicious sushi 🍣 🍱 is fresh and restaurants have their special dish everyday. Where you can find plenty of options to try.
The food, service, room, and onsens were all excellent. It felt like a dream. The staff were very attentive. I made a mistake with my booking but they were very understanding and sorted everything out for me, even though it was my mistake. They also provided me with two excellent vegetarian meals. The private onsens were the best part of the experience, you can easily lock the door and look out onto nature while soaking in hot water. I really recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a luxurious traditional Japanese experience.
The ryokan was beautiful, with a great, modern shared kitchen and lovely common spaces to relax and meet with people, which we would've loved to have more time to make use of. It also had a private and a shared onsen. The shared one wasn't super big but it was clean and it had a great atmosphere.
I stayed in a room with four friends and it was really nice, with a view of the river and a table for us to chill and talk.
We would love to come back and will definitely recommend!
Everything was amazing! The staff were so helpful, caring and generous. The 10pm homemade ramen by the staff was unbelievable. The comfy bed , the traditional clothing and the private onsens made the experience that much better. Didn’t matter that we don’t speak Japanese either , they were happy to help and some spoke good English. It is like a whole resort. So fun and fulfilling. Will definitely be going back.
Kameya was a charming old school seaside hotel with 4 onsens available., 1 in basement and 1 on top floor with views, male and female alternating hours and 2 private roof top spa with view over the sea. The room was spacious and the beach is across the road, Ito is great to explore and we had a number of day trips to other parts of the Izu peninsula. No bustling crowds and amazing scenery.
Cheap price, really good accomodation, authentic "japanese" feeling. Being able to enjoy a real ryokan accomodations for such a price is a steal. Also, staff is english-speaking, kind, will try its best to make yout stay in Ito as enjoyable as possible. Onsen is clean, well-maintained and allows a real relax time.
It's definitely one the biggest and comfortable hotel rooms that I have stayed so far in Japan. The staff was very cooperative and friendly. Spacious room, and bath. Beds were comfy and good in size. Loved the experience of staying there and will definitely stay there again. (stayed with family including kids)
The room was comfortable and the onsen was very nice! The family running the hotel is incredibly polite and helpful, even offered us snacks! The hotel is 10min away from convenience store walking distance and the location is very beautiful! You can easily get the bus to visit mt omuru from there!
everything is perfect here and we enjoyed our stay very much. Though the location is a bit remote, but there is free shuttle provided by the hotel to Ito station. All the staffs are friendly and the meals prepared by the hotel are delicious. Thank you very much it’s a good memory for us.
We booked it specifically for the private onsen, which was really nice. The staff as well. The Japanese style room was also comfortable. Please note that all rooms are smoking rooms. The smell was not very strong and didn't bother us too much.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the size of the room, the services and amenities. The dinner and breakfast buffets were fantastic and our favorite part was the lounge with a library of books, free drinks and ice creams.
Excellent hospitality from the owner and his assistant Ms Lam. Good provisions in the hotel and the meals are good. The owner had driven us free to scenic locations. A value for money hotel and recommended to you without hesitation.
Great experience!Hotel is by the sea and the view is very good. Breakfast is amazing. It‘s 20 min walk from Futo station. Hotel helped pick up our luggage at the station. Great service!
Nice and cozy place, feels like home. The owner speaks multiple languages so no worries if you can’t speak Japanese. There’s also a vending machine in the guesthouse which i liked.
I really like the place. It's beautiful and very clean. I love the onsen in my room. I should have spent more nights in this hotel. The staffs can communicate in English.
Nice staff!Very thouughtful and friendly, feels warmhearted when we stay in the hotel with the companioon.Hope I can visit them again in the soon future😊
