We loved our trip here. Little did I know, I seem to enjoy travelling in a pretty laid-back city and Ise was just perfect for that. If you're craving for a small city experience, out from the other international travelers, I'd recommend Ise for sure.

I visited Ise to see and experience Ise Grand Shrine. I am interested in the mythology about Japanese shrines and also in the Imperial Family system. My parents visited Ise when they were young and I wanted to do the same trip.

IseShi is an important city to visit if you like Shine. There are plenty of Shrines and you will have not enough time to visit this place if you want to explore all of the Shrine. Also don't forget to taste the Ise Lobster and the Matsusaka wagyu beef.

The Ise area has so many positives and sights to see! The temples of course but there is the seaside to the north as well as the natural beauty of the whole peninsula that we would love to see more of, we should have booked for a week!
Ise city itself was very tidy, and clearly well organised and set up for tourism with walking streets and beautiful shops on the main street from station to Ise Jingu Shrine. We would still love to visit the Okage Yokocho ancient street area and all the other temples south of Ise!

Meoto Iwa was a good place, but getting there was sligthly confusing (mostly due to me misreading Google Maps instructions and ending up at a different station =);
Ise's shrines were great, I really recommend Okage Yokocho and the Uji Brigde: perfect for a nice walk with great landscapes and sceneries.
Ninja Kingdom was also an interesting experience, but as non japanese I cannot recommend the Real Life Game; so the time spent there was around half a day. From there, the Meoto Iwa is not far, so I would advise to combine both, if found interesting.

Great place if your looking for a shrine pilgrimage (many shrines in the city), especially since Ise Grand shrine is the most sacred shrine in all of Japan. Many shrines to visit (recommend Futamiokitama Shrine as well). There are many fun shops and restaurants/ food stands around Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku). The downtown area around Iseshi station also has a lovely street of shops and restaurants. Many buses and trains that run frequently to take you to many places.
Great guesthouse and very friendly owner!
There's a fully equipped kitchen to use freely so you can cook or have breakfast at the guesthouse^^ Very convenient location if you want to go to the beach, visit Meoto Iwa or Ise Jingu! I had the chance to meet several very friendly Japanese people here. They shared their food, snacks, and beers with me, so generous! We listened to music and we had a lot of laughs^^ After only spending 5 nights here, I already felt at home😊 If I ever travel to Japan again, I will definitely come back here!
Very close to Iseshi station (JR line a bit closer than Kintetsu, but by just a foot bridge). Both stations were small, thus with limited coin lockers. Good variety of food for breakfast. I never had to queue for breakfast. Same with laundy. There were only 2 combo washer/dryer but did not have to wait for my turn. Provides option to not clean room everyday and just replenish supplies like towels. Fast checkin and checkout. Also, thanksfor the free gift of Tabi socks. It was my first time using one and it felt comfortable.
Location is a short walk from Ise-shi station, which makes it convenient if you are coming in from a different city. The particular pathway from the hotel to the station has ramps, which make moving luggage a breeze.
In terms of facilities, the hotel has an onsen, a cold tub, as well as a sauna, which is pretty rare. Facilities are well managed and clean.
Generally a really positive experience all around. Breakfast had a really good selection of food too.
Visiting Ise for three days this traditional ryokan is a bit out of the center, but still walkable. The atmosphere is great and you can feel the history of the place inside. The shared bath facilities are nice and also the room lovely (with complementary ear muffs if you're sensitive to noise!). Breakfast each day great to get you going and the staff very accommodating.
Brand new, convenient, with nice rooms, though the self-check in and semi-unmanned front desk was a little off-putting. For example, they don't offer storage for your bags if you need to drop them earlier or pick them up later after check out. A small thing, but a huge inconvenience and not what I would expect for a hotel with this many rooms at this price point.
We like the basic kitchenette with pot and pan, can make our breakfast fast. Room was very clean. Location is good, close to the sightseeing spots and restaurants. We had made booking mistakes, the front desk staff helped us to correct it with free of charge. Really appreciated his efforts and we will definitely choose Fav Hotel when we come back next time.
It’s a nice, cute place, quiet as well. I had a nice and Comfortable room with a nice view on the sea. Enjoyed the small onsen. Close to the beach, close to the wedded rocks, close to the station and easy to get from there to Ise shrine. Friendly host!
Best Guest house I have been to in Japan. Everything is beautiful, organised and clean. You feel like home.
The owners are very friendly and ready to help. I had an excellent breakfast there in their nice café.
I really recommend this place !
An absolutely brilliant location, great for getting to the Naiku Jinja, or inner shrine, early in the morning to beat the crowds and/or catch the sunrise.
The host was wonderfully kind and I loved the old house. Very fun.
It has everything you need to live there. The spoken explanation of the apartment is, which was in Japanese, and the equipment there were first rate. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms, something I appreciate.
Very clean and new hotel can be seen easily from Iseshi station. The lighting in the room is very bright and comfortable. Good variety and delicious healthy breakfast. Free coffee and tea at the lobby until midnight.
The welcoming from Saori and her family made the visit to Ise Shrine all the better. I slept very well in the quiet of the house and neighborhood and was able to walk to the Ise Shrine in just a few minutes!
Location is excellent, it is just next to Iseshi station. Also, the hotel has small cafe at the lobby and provides free coffee and snack for all day. It is so convenience.
Amazing option to stay and sleep over while visiting Ise and exploring the region. Very caring host providing a great experience and ensuring a pleasant time.
