A wonderful stay at the temple. We were made incredibly comfortable and welcome, in their beautiful, tranquil and traditional location. After a busy spell in Tokyo, this was the perfect peaceful contrast. We enjoyed taking part in the temple activities and as a vegetarian (tricky in Japan) I was blown away by the standout multi-course fully plant based meal. We even received a special gift in acknowledgement of our honeymoon.

We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit!
If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else.
Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!

My family and I stayed in this beautiful place for 4 days. You have no idea how much closer this will bring you to real Japan. The house is just perfect, it is 170 years old. The garden that Jirou-san looks after deserves the best praise. Overlooking the garden you see the beauty of Japan. Thanks to the owners for their hospitality and care for their guests.

My room on the 6th floor was large, luminous, comfy and had great views of the city. This business hotel is a little older and the bathroom less perfect than in most of the chain hotels, but there is nothing to complain about really. Lighting could be better but the reading lights by the beds are perfect. Windows open. Less than 100 meters from the JR station. Spacious lobby.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, 古民家の宿宰嘉庵 TraditionalJapaniseHotel Saikaan is situated in Maizuru.

It is old building with modernization facility. Good kitchen and air condition and the parking lot is nearby also. It have a beautiful small courtyard and you can take very good portrait. just 10~15mins walking time that you can visit Higashiyoshihara. Actually, I visit East Maizuru Brick Park in the 1st day and west Maizuru for 2nd day. It is good and comfortable house for me.
An unforgettable stay at Akira and Nono's! They warmly welcomed us, showed us farm life, and treated us to an authentic culinary experience. Akira picked us up from the train station, and they were always available to assist us. The traditional room overlooked their beautiful farm, offering a peaceful morning view. Breakfasts were delicious, showcasing Japanese cuisine. We also had the opportunity to participate in various activities (with several options available, and they strive to fulfill our personal wishes) to celebrate our anniversary, making our stay even more special. Additionally, we enjoyed the luxury of indoor and outdoor baths, allowing for unique moments of relaxation while listening to the birds sing. A refreshing and soothing experience, perfect for rejuvenating in the heart of Japanese nature. An experience to have once in a lifetime!
