Far away from any city, the hotel offers large rooms, an onsen, a golf... I was lucky to have a balcony overlooking the golf, and the view was both peaceful and beautiful. Sherry on the cake: the breakfast is good and good value for money.

Spanking brand new hotel. Everything was superbly clean, comfy & new. The beds were excellent - super comfy! The layout of the room was functional too. We had interconnecting rooms. Perhaps it would help if the doors between the rooms could open out 180 degrees...currently it only opens to 90 degrees & it blocks the walkways if we want to keep the 2 rooms "connected".

The hotel room has a magnificent view. We can see the grass field and sunrise in the morning. The hotel room is excellent, neat, clean, comfortable and tidy. The staff was nice and helpful. We went for the horse riding tour the other day and the staff were happy to explain the horses to us.

An quiet spacious country house on the forest edge with lovely views of Mt Aso. Driving & check in instructions were clear and easy (indeed Google Maps cannot be followed). Appreciated the bag of rice from the hosts as well as various information such as the nearby hike. There are only two Western single beds, more travelers will have to enjoy the futon instead.

It was very cosy. Well furnished, clean and good amenities provided. Definitely value for money. Felt really comfortable staying at the property. Thumbs up.
Great views. Great trip. Only disappointment is the blue "lake" in Nakadake Crater. All the pictures show the "lake" while to my understanding it was destroyed during the 2016 earthquake. It was what drawn my attention to this location to begin with, so it was disappointing not seeing it. All these pictures should be replaced with what currently is there, not what used to be there.

Unfortunately access to the crater is still prohibited due...
Unfortunately access to the crater is still prohibited due to the risk of toxic gases, but the surrounding area is impressive. For those keen on a hard nature walk you can walk up the steep trail of the neighbouring peak and look down into the crater from there. Allow a good half a day or more to do this!
El Patio is in a beautiful part of Aso National Park and the room had an amazing view. It’s quiet and feels connected to the environment. The horses and the stables gave the whole place a rustic and Western vibe. The food was warm and hearty, perfect for cold winter nights. The staff were so kind and helpful, they were worried my rental car did not have winter tires (I stayed during a snow storm) and went to lengths notifying me in advance and making sure I would be safe driving on the roads.
Food is really nice, perfect for elderly and very spacious. Staff is quite strict in some meaning, I got a little scold when step on the tatami (with hotel’s slipper) but there is no sign of “no shoe” (I can understand that may be it my fault) Staff are quite aged but very strong and active. They are very helpful when needed help.
The location is good for us who driving car and plan for Aso Mountain and attractions nearby.
There are many convenient stores nearby within walking distance also. There is a garden outside the house where you could BBQ also.
The house is spacious enough for 7ppls. It also equipped with all the necessary facilities mentioned.
The place was very welcome and felt like staying at a Japanese friend's house. We had a really good stay. The host was super supportive. My friend forgot her clothes at the house, but the host helped sending them back to Thailand. We do appreciate her efforts. Thank you for everything. I really recommend this place.
Loved the location. The host was very kind, with many kind gifts and attentions for the guests. We loved the discounted tickets for the Onsen closeby and all the advices on what to do on a rainy day on Aso.
Everything is very clean.
Futon beds were quite comfortable.
Great place to relax and gain strength. The nature around is amazing (but needs a car) and the air is like fine wine. The hotel itself contains a large amount of facilities (if you don't like to travel) and the dishes variety during dinner is just unbelievable.
Location was perfect, right next to the train and bus station for easy travel without a car. The hotel has good unlimited coffee and common kitchen to heat up food. Staff were friendly and gave us cold medicine when we couldn't get to a pharmacy.
A convenient base for visiting Aso. What you expect - a small, clean guesthouse in a quiet suburb a few minutes’ walk from Aso station. Helpful information provided (by owner and on the wall) about local attractions, timetables etc.
Our first time staying at a traditional Japanese inn. My daughter had done the research and chosen the spot. The location was amazing and I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast and onsen were fantastic!
our 3 pax room is big & clean, onsen & dinning areas are large. The hotel also provides shuttle to bring guests to & from train stations. and the breakfast & dinner spread are of western & Japanese buffet styles.
1)The breakfast n dinner are good,
2) Room very clean and comfortable bed
3) Big spacious Onsen Bath.
4) Big, spacious lounge , can buy food from outside hotel using the microwave.
Incredible stay into the Aso Park thanks to this hotel. Very helpful to find & call a restaurant at night. Great staff & large traditional Japanese breakfast
