The joy of flying from London on BA is that you land in Jordan in the middle of the night. Mount Nebo Hotel was perfectly located and takes about 30 minutes to reach from the airport. I had informed the hotel that I would be arriving at around 3.00 am and yes they went out of the way to ensure that I was welcomed. It had a secure car park and the breakfast was a spread that would impress a king. The hotel was clean and the room was very spacious and was air-conditioned.
The location was perfect to explore the sights around Madaba like the Baptism site and Mount Nebo which is a must if you visit Jordan. Dinner again was great and the special course they do for around 19 JD is enough to feed a family.
I had to leave early on the day I checked out. They went out of the day to prepare an early breakfast for me. One cannot but appreciate how well I was looked after and this was in spite of the fact that I was the only guest in the hotel during my two night stay.

Wonderful position just in front to the St George Church. All the others points of interest are within walking distance. Staff is very kind and helpful. Room (with AC) was clean ans spacious with bathroom attached. No TV and fridge in the room, but they have fridge in the terrace where you get a fantastic view of the city. Good breakfast. Free parking along the streets or in a private parking lot at 3 Jod per night.

I was on business travel and could have picked either Amman or Madaba for my stay. I like Madaba much better since it is not as busy and vast as Amman, everything I need (restaurants, shops) is in walking distance to the hotel (5 to 10 mins). Madaba also has some sights like old churches and historical mosaiqes worth visiting. In my view, for pure touristic reasons, two days in Madaba might be sufficient, but for me as a business traveller, I like the town very much to spend my evenings. Madaba can also be used as a starting place for excursions into the surrounding (Mount Nebo, Jordan valley, Amman etc.).

Other than the popular attractions, Madaba is a great place to stay at the begenning or end of one's Jordan trip as it is close to Queen Alia airport (closer than Amman).
It is also a better shopping experience (for arab/muslim clothing) than Amman, as driving inside Madaba is much easier than Amman. Prices seemed to be better as well.

Madaba is one of the most interesting places in Jordan and the good news is that it's not that touristy! The typical Middle Eastern city with its busy life, colourful streets and simple vibe, is the christian stamp of Middle East - it's a remarkable dialogue between the most important empires that ruled there - nabatheans, romans, bizantines, islamic, and it's covered with the most impressive mosaics.
It's a great city to feel the true Jordanian vibe with all its hospitality, joyfulness and historical interest - without tourist traps.

Take a little time to discover this city which is worth more than just visiting the church and Mount Nebo. We have spent a very nice evening in a restaurant we found during our visit. Unexpected and memorable!

Very friendly people and fantastic places to visit, including the mosaic museum. Great place to relax by shopping in the bazaar and eating on the street. The city looks safe and people are very friendly and supportive! Places that must be visited are Saint George Church, Saint John Church, Archeological Museum, and Mosaic Museum. Enjoy fantastic meals and restaurant services after souvenirs shopping.

I think the price is fair and the accommodation in total okay. The staff was excellent (!!) but pls don’t expect more than easiest standard. I wished to have a bed light and a little more comfortable beds.
But, Samar and his wife who spoke English well were super-friendly prepared dinner and opened the gate at 4am!
(What I found semi-pleasant was that the gate was closed after my arrival (8pm) and no chance to get out of the premises.)
Our plane landed in Amman very early in the morning and we really got to the hotel very early. The friendly staff gave us free early check in.
The hotel is within walking distance to all attractions in Madaba. The restaurant "Haret Jdudna" is almost right next door.
The bed is comfortable and the balcony is great. The roof terrace is unique
The breakfast was very rich and delicious. big compliment.
You feel like you're in the family at the hotel.
All in all we thought it was great
We will come back for sure.
Thank you
This is the third time that I have stayed at this hotel. It is among the more expensive options in the town of Madaba, but the rooms are very nice and comfortable and the staff are so friendly and helpful! The restaurant serves a good continental breakfast. I typically eat in the town for dinner but I do recommend the hotel's Signature Pizza. A/C in the rooms is good. The location close to the heart of the town and 20 minutes from the airport is also good. Water pressure in the shower was incredible!
A lovely hotel in all ways. Family-owned snd run, and very friendly sand helpful. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable (with effective aircon!). Some nice outside areas to sit in for the evening. Free access to tea and coffee in the kitchen to help yourself. An outstanding breakfast in the morning. Easy parking and easily walkable intop the centre for sights/restaurants.
It was so good I changed my plans the next day and came back to Madaba to check back in again.
The hotel proprietors, Amir & Dahlia, live at their establishment and are always there to help with tourist advice and great places to eat. Try Mr Angus across the street for the best burgers & shawarma in Madaba! I saw Amir preparing a salad in the hotel kitchen one day, and he taught me how to make Jordanian Fatoush! Both Amir and his beautiful wife Dahlia will make you feel right at home in their lovely hotel in the heart of the ancient Mosaic City Madaba!
Excellent location, in the courtyard of St George's Church, very central to Madaba. Easy to visit all sites of the city. Staff was polite, helpful andvery accomodating to all our needs. Due to our very early departure, we had no chance to have our breakfast there and they prepared for us our breakfast "to go"! The hotel has all facilities that a traveler may need, and for a very low price. We would be happy to stay again and we recommend it to all travellers.
unbelievably friendly and welcoming staff who want to make your stay as great as possible. good buffet breakfast to set you up for a day of exploring! the hotel is in a perfect location, all the main attractions in Madaba as well as the restaurants are easily walkable. and Mt Nebo is only 15 minutes away, the airport 30. this was our last stop before leaving Jordon and we felt like it was a great place to end the adventures! thank you!!
The owners have brought the concept of a high-end, European boutique hotel to Madaba. Built out of the old family home, the units are very modern, clean, and offer everything you could need for your stay including their own secure parking lot. We opted for the dinner package as well (breakfast was included) and were suitably impressed with all of the food. The well-stocked mini-bar and snacks was very welcoming!
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and as a bonus, they have a very pleasant scent. We felt right at home. The hospitality was exceptionally warm. We sincerely thank the family who runs the hotel for making us feel so comfortable and safe. We highly recommend Classy Hostel in Madaba.

We have found great people working there, that are willing to help and support tourists. The atmosphere was almost like in family. The hotel is placed in the middle of tourist district in Madaba. One of its greatest feautures was opened roof with restaurant and believe - it was unforgettable sight! There is a parking 4 minutes walk from there. I definately recomend this place!
The Black Iris Hotel is a very good choice for staying in Madaba. All sights are in walking distance.
The Hotel is new, rooms are well equipped, cozy and absolutely clean. After a long day I decided to have dinner in the hotel and this was delicious as was the breakfast.
The staff was outstanding friendly and made my stay memorable.
I would defently stay there again.
Eduard, the owner, is extremely kind and helpful. He cares about every guest and has answer for every question. Breakfast is delicious, made by his mother with many homemade specialties, and she also takes care that every guest begins day with a smile. Main attractions of Madaba are all within walking distance from the hotel.
The host is the kindest man! :)
He was able to accommodate us for one more night, he is very helpful and gave us many tips on where to go. The breakfast he offers is also very good.
The location of the hotel is also very good, everything is a short walk away. The parking is also available on the street.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, in the center of Madaba -- easy walking to all of the major attractions. Breakfast was very good, and the bar area is cozy and fun. All of our encounters with staff were fantastic.
Well located in the centre of Madaba with a parking opportunity in front of the hotel (24h free). The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Not super cosy and modern, but for the price it is worth it.
The parking lot is next to the hotel and is included in the price. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds comfortable. Good breakfast. Location near the center of Madaba.
