I am not so much a fan of Port Antonio town but the area of Portland is my favourite as it’s so beautiful and peaceful. I always stay longer in the part of the island as it’s so wonderful to come from a big city like a London to this peaceful paradise.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the town of Port Antonio, but did have a delicious fish and lobster dinner at Roots 21. We mostly went to the beaches near fairy hill and Zion hill. Taxis are plentiful but we chose to use Polish Princess charter service as it was raining and or dark when we went out for dinner.

The main problem being in port Antonio is transportation if you are not driving. because it is not a tourist area like montego Bay or Negill, you may have difficulty reaching there or when you are Leaving!! I have been here about six times now And that is the biggest problem. There are great restaurants here with great food food along the area near Boston beach. Even though the jerk centers are not always that greatest according to reputation. the jerk restaurant right at the Boston beach Guest house entrance was excellent also also Rocky's fried chicken was good. I don't recall the names of a few of the other restaurants!!

Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica.
Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica. The town itself is very lively, and the surrounding area has lots of outdoor attractions do including, Frenchmans, cove, blue Lagoon, horseback riding, and more.
Be aware, however, that the roads are rough! There was construction going on as of late November 2023 when we visited. So we were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic at one point while they closed the road. There is only one main road and one lane each direction so getting around takes some time, even tough the distance between attractions may seem short.
Also have your wits about you when interacting with street vendors, they may overcharge you. So ask for prices upfront and calculate your total before handing over any cash. We got ripped off and wound up paying $1,000 JMD for a fritter, Callaloo and breadfruit but it was our fault for not double checking the total.

I love the parish of Portland and always enjoy being in Port Antonio. Decent, kind, welcoming people and the many attractions to visit and beaches to visit.
I am just hoping they fix the roads sooner than later.
Wonderful and accommodating hosts!
The apartment exceeded my expectations. Excellent location in Portland with easy access off the main road. The villa is done to perfection with great attention to detail and more! Very safe and secure site. Excellent value!!! My favorite stay for 2024! Very close to rafting on the RIO Grande and a short distance to Somerset Falls and Likkle Portie. Cookshop is close by.... This is definitely my first choice for a Portland Stay! ♡♡♡
Long Story short. Great Host Couple. Delicious Breakfast Offering. Fluently in English and German. Lovely Stay in the Hills of Port Antonio. Guided Tours by the Host are great. Also open for Deep Talk over every Topic you want to talk about. You also have this great Apartment to spend some Private Time without Disturbance. Great Place. Great People. I can recommend the Place to Everyone. It definetly wasn't my last Stay.
The food is amazing a cooked by a real Italian chef, the food is top class at great price to taste some real good quality food the chicken burgers are amazing and the carbonara is so delicious. I highly recommend to let the owner Alfio cook for you ,you won’t regret it , good location quieter than most and close enough to big attractions,Boston beach , reach falls
The scenery is breathtaking. The sound of the ocean. The private beach. The cottage. The bed. The bathroom. The restaurant. The food. The staff. The security. All absolutely amazing. We visited for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my mother's birthday and it exceeded expectations. We shall return 😊.
Barbara cooked a wonderful Jamaican breakfast and is a fantastic host - she couldn't do enough for guests. The hotel is in a quiet location but well-placed for Winnifred Beach and not far from other sights such as the Blue Lagoon (currently closed) and Frenchman's Cove Beach.
Despite booking last minute our host Shirley went well out of her way to accommodate us. She was very kind and attentive, and we felt truly at home. It means a lot to meet someone like Shirley, it is worth coming to Port Antonio just to meet her.
really beautiful hotel, Ameika, the receptionist was the best and the nicest member of staff. they’d be lost with out her!!
owner wanted to charge me for 4 teabags!! a bit mean, so left a bad taste in my mouth. Everything else was fine.
The breakfast and the hospitality of the owner were great! Also, the facility is very nice (with a big terrace) and in a nice and safe location, not far from some of the best beaches in Port Antonio area.
- Nicely designed hotel and pool, spacious room
- Staff was kind but due the orders they apparently need to follow, it was an unpleasant experience
- You can make use of a shared kitchen/refrigerator
Housekeeper-cook was very good. The view and patio area was very good. Free local coffee was a nice touch. Reliable wifi. Beds were comfortable. Beach towels available. Close enough to amenities.
Great place! Definitely gonna stay here next time im in Jamaica. It's near many beaches twenty minutes from town and has some restaurants near by. Stefano is also an amazing host and human being!

All the staff were incredible, so helpful - welcoming and friendly, always available. They felt like friends by the end of our stay and made our time in Port Antonio extra special
The feeling of where the hotel is and what it has to offer was just amazing. It made you feel like you belong, being exposed to mother nature was just relaxing and amazing
A wonderful little hostel run by a friendly Italian owner! Close to the beaches with good bathrooms and a nice communal kitchen! I enjoyed my time here in Port Antonio
