Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

Turin is a fantastic Italian city and not supercrowded with tourists. A lot of beautiful palazzos and the amazing Royal Castle. It is easy to walk with the famous arched and covered walkways, very useful in hot summer or if it rains. Nice restaurants with nice food, amazingly beautiful caffees with nice coffee or bicerin and pastries. And of course, gelato! Streets are very clean.
There are a lot of amazing museums, whatever is your interest: cars, fine art, cinema/films, etc.
Beautiful nearby places: Superga (amazing panoramic view on Torino), La Venaria Reale (former royal residence), etc.
Museo Egizio houses one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities.
I can recommend restaurant Da Michele 1922 on Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Very nice staff and super Italian food. Try farinata and pizza as well.

Beautiful city and so easy to get around on foot and via Metro. Plenty to see and do. Amazing park, architecture and people who were really friendly and had the time to converse with us. Most of the people spoke excellent English which made it far too easy for us. Excellent train services in and around town and from the airport too.

Turin is one of the most charming cities in my travel experience. The art and culture are so rich and beautiful. Everything is detailed from art to food. I am impressed with everything Turin has. The architecture, the palace, the culture, the food, the gelato, the people they are all top qualities in every area. The city itself has everything you like , you can shop for brand names with no que, go to quality museums ,or stroll around the city alone. You can have good coffee in the most beautiful café like Vienna, eat chocolate, drink, have apéritive ,….. I must say I am falling in love with Turin. Rome Florence Milan Venice are too crowded too many tourists . The people here are very nice and friendly too. It’s quite safe to walk alone. You don’t have to worry about pick pocket ect. I ❤️Turin

We loved the auto museum and the Juventus stadium tour.
We loved the auto museum and the Juventus stadium tour. We would have liked to have seen the Egyptian museum but did not have enough time. Unfortunately our trip was cut short because of the long travel delays at the tunnels between France and Italy. We ate in Eataly and other onstreet restaurants. It was easy to use the trams to get to where we were going. Driving was a bit more confusing.

Amazing place to visit.
Amazing place to visit. The piazza's are plentiful, as too are places to stop for coffee/cuisine and watch the world go by. We loved the architecture, shopping and museums and although the weather wasn't so great on our stay, the City itself didn't disappoint!

Many opt for Milan over Turin, but it's time to reverse that trend. Turin isn't just an industrial city as commonly perceived; it's a stunning destination steeped in history, once the residence of the King of Italy. With its abundance of historical landmarks, excellent shopping, and delightful dining options, Turin offers a tranquil ambiance distinct from other Italian cities. Its compact size allows for leisurely strolls, making it a perfect getaway.
Everything is highly well-maintained by its staffs, who are superbly attentive and professionally polite to their guests. The room was very much standard to the other HILTON branches around the world, and the overall cleanliness is beyond the average 4-star rated hotels that are based in Italy. Although it was only a night of staying at this hotel, as a frequent business traveler around Europe, Asia, and the US, I can definitely say this specific hotel is "far beyond the average" in overall aspects.
The decoration is amazing! I’ve searched for the architect to see who designed this amazing decoration! It’s a mixture of ancient and modern. Very well managed 4 star hotel! It’s not just bed and breakfast, there is always someone in the reception. In front of the hotel there is limites space for parking. Breakfast was excellent! Very calm and peaceful! Rooms are neat and clean! Definetly a right place to stay in Turin! just 5 min walk to everything as well.
B and B Carlo Alberto is in the best location! It is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, cultural attractions and local transportation including the train station. The room was on the smaller size (about the same as small boutique hotels in Italy) but the shower was bigger and very nice. The breakfast in the morning was adequate with a variety of juices, pastries, cheese, meat and as much cappuccino that you can drink!
The location was excellent. An easy walk from Porta Nuova station and opposite tram stop to Porta Susa. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The room was larger than expected, very comfortable and quiet. Room service breakfast was generous and more than expected. It was the best stay during our 10 day trip to Italy and France. Turin is well worth a visit. The tourist information office is right by the accommodation.
Chose hotel for the convenient location beside Porta Susa. Allowed early check in, helpful and polite staff. Clean, comfortable room, nothing fancy but plenty of room, quiet. Extra pillow available. Water was hot for shower. Breakfast was cheap and plentiful, lots of options at the buffet. Restaurants & cafes close by.
The hotel is in a historical building of a former Fiat factory. It is very nice renovated and with designer furniture. The shopping centre nearby is very convenient, also the subway station right in front of the hotel. The parking slot was free of charge, something very rare for Italy.
It's one of my favorite hotels to stay in ever. Excellent price, attentive staff, very clean, quiet, well furbished, roomy, located two steps from the train station and shopping, on a central piazza of Turin. If the price holds, I'm definitely going back. I also love Turin.
Bed was comfortable, very cleaned, and has a great location for where we wanted to be. Steps away from Porta Nova train station. Turin is a beautiful place. Didn't explore the city. Our purpose was to meet up our relatives for dinner and head back to Rome the next day.
Very convenient hotel if you are traveling in Italy by train, close to Turin station to sleep one night and go somewhere further the next day, either by train or to Turin airport. Breakfast is also available. And I was lucky, I had a hotel room with a balcony.
The Hotel is perfectly located near the Porta Susa train station in Turin. The room is big enough for a 1-2 night stay and the bathroom is clean and equipped with towels and soaps for your stay. Wifi is good and there is also a TV in the room.
Very helpful staff, great location (close to 2 metro stations - 4min walking distance - which makes it easy to go to the center), and great money value. It’s my second time in Tourist Hotel and will sure repeat it upon my next visit to Turin.
Pleasant apartment in central, historic location. 15 mins walk from Porta Susa Station which is on the railway service from Turin airport. Close to museums, cultural attractions and shopping streets.
This is our favourite hotel in Europe. Every year we travel from West Wales to Italy by train for our holidays - and we always stop in Turin on route. The Sitea is exceptional in every respect!
Lovely spacious room and the best breakfast we had in Italy. We moved there for our last night in Turin - otherwise we would have stayed longer. We were able to walk to sites and train station.
Nice hotel in an old building, convenient for the Porta Nuova station and close to central Turin. Clean and well maintained. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful.
Hotel was superb, staff were extremely helpful, facilities were excellent including the roof bar/restaurant that gave great views of Turin that included the Alps.
