The room was extremely comfortable to meet our needs but was smaller than we expected. A little more space within the bedroom and certainly the bathroom would have been welcomed. Bed comfy and beautiful linen.
The staff were most welcoming and helpful. Food and service excellent
The pool and surrounding areas were lovely- the pool however, was on the small size for the size of hotel. Enjoyed the quiet garden area to enjoy some reading however the permitted smoking was not so great

We loved the views from the town of the ocean, the harbors and the shoreline. The architecture was interesting - I like old brick and stone buildings - and the choice of good restaurants is almost unlimited. and the shopping is abundant. The downtown is large enough to offer variety but small enough to be able to cover it on foot. We also got very good weather in late May.
Sorrento can be very crowded so we are glad we were a bit early for the peak season. We stayed at the Ambassador Hotel which was enough off the beaten path to avoid the large crowds while still being near a number of restaurants and a reasonable walk to downtown.
Sorrento was a great place to visit.

Absolutely perfect location to travel in both directions - Pompei/Naples & Amalfi coast.
Loved Sorrento as a location in it self; great place, much more chilled than the busier tourist destinations, fab restaurants, bars, transport, views.
We actually preferred Sorrento to stay compared to other locations on the Amalfi coast.

Sorrento is a beautiful town that time forgot! So picturesque! Corso Italia is great for restaurants, pubs and people watching. By far my favourite place to stay in the Amalfi Coast region. Transport is great. You can easily access all other places of interest from here. I fell in love with Sorrento immediately. We will return as soon as possible!

The town is clearly a favourite tourist destination; at times it was heaving, so unless you love the crowds, I'd avoid peak summer! It was wonderful just to walk around the town, bars/restaurants/hotels aplenty, but great to get away from it all by an hour+ walk to a more secluded couple of beaches.
Our boat trip to Positano and Amalfi was a highlight; we chose the more expensive 12-passenger option with an informative, friendly guide and experienced skipper; we couldn't face being one of many on one of the bigger boats, but each to their own.
A guided hike along part of the Path of the Gods was fabulous too. It was very overcast, so the views weren't so spectacular for us, but it was still a magical experience. Again, pick your times as it can be more like the 'highway of the Gods' as our guide suggested.
It was a more expensive holiday than I had first planned, but we went with it, enjoying the heat, the sunshine, the friendly people, the great Mediterranean food and drink.

Sorrento provides an excellent water gateway to the Amalfi coast, Capri, Ischia and Naples as well as land access to the Archeological sites in the area. Road access to Naples airport has lots of traffic and delays to the airport can cost you with missing your flight.
Sorrento setting is beautiful but the center is extremely touristy, a common issue with many picturesque towns and villages in Europe but it is a reasonable alternative to staying in Naples.
There is a train to Naples that stops at various points along the way from Sorrento but we didn’t use it. Hotels on the hills above the town with their magnificent views are somewhat isolated from the center and are not easily accessible without an expensive taxi or a frequently running hotel-provided shuttle.
But as long as you understand the issues of getting around a stay in Sorrento can be very enjoyable.
Handy location at the end of the main street of the old town. You may not get the views of the hotels further out, but you don't get the long, uphill walk either! Huge room, useful balcony. Everywhere - room, corridors, reception, breakfast area - all spotlessly clean and spacious. Massive breakfast spread to help yourself from - best I've had in Italy and I've been a few times. Helpful reception staff. Don't be put off by the word Hostel. It's more like a hotel, without a restaurant. The Deluxe bit is more appropriate.
I liked the bed and pillows, it was super comfortable. The sea view was great. It was a bit noisy in the mornings, but I like it in Italy, it gives the right feeling. I chose this hotel because of the location, I visited Capri and later went to Positano by ferry. They do not write the platform number on the ticket, so ask for it when buying one. It was crowded in the centre, but quiet in the port in the evening which I liked after the busy day. Please note that the hotel has some stairs.
amazingly clean and well furnished room, a lot bigger than most Italian stays, probably the biggest I’ve ever been in Italy, and i have been to a lot places there. the hospitality is great, the breakfast amazing freshly baked and perfect cappuccino. the location is great near the station in Sorrento and a walkable distance to the city centre. Book with confidence this is your place in Sorrento!!! thanks to our hosts and hope to be back one day!
An absolutely gorgeous home, set on beautiful grounds overlooking Sorrento Port and Mount Vesuvius. Fantastic location as well, close to everything you need. A wrap around terrace allows amazing views from both bedrooms (which are huge). Very spacious and Fabiana was such a helpful host. Thank you for letting my family and I stay in this beautiful space. We thought it was the best accommodation of our entire 2 weeks in Italy.
all 4 of us absolutely LOVED this lovely home. it was so much nicer than the photos showed. we all walked in and went “oh wow”. the views are spectacular. the location amazing. each room was well appointed, spotless and super comfortable. the hosts were so nice. we want to come back to Sorrento and stay here again. we stayed all over Italy this trip as we are gone a month and this was by far our favorite apartment.
❤️❤️❤️
Checked all the boxes. The hotel provides transportation to and from town and used it. Special thanks to Rosela for her attention to our needs. Beautiful views of the Mediterranean from everywhere on the property. Pool is resort like and plenty of seating. Their restaurant is one of the best we dined at during our 3 weeks in Italy. We will definitely return to Da Gelsomina on a future return trip to Italy.
The accommodation is in the heart of Sorrento and close to all the main restaurants and bars. The host was really helpful and very communicative throughout our stay. Both rooms were very comfortable and all with AC (which is essential when in Italy in the summer) and the garden area outside was very peaceful. Really nice stay, and a great place to have as a base to explore Sorento and the Amalfi Coast.
This was my first trip to Italy and I couldn't be more pleased with Hotel Regina. From the moment I walked in, the people were extremely welcoming, even helped me with a taxi, ordering delivery and recommending a day trip to the Amalfi coast. My room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the view was out of this world. Would definitely come back to Hotel Regina again and again.
The host, Mariano, was super helpful and friendly. The location is superb - very close to Piazza Tasso (less than 5 minute walk), and yet snugged in a very quiet location. The cleaner cleaned the rooms every day. Our best stay in our trip to Southern Italy, by far. I will not hesitate to recommend A Suites to anyone looking for accommodation in Sorrento. Thanks Mariano👍
Raffaela is so welcoming, kind and knowledgeable. The location of her home right near the train station allowed us to walk up to the historical center, take the train to Pompeii and to visit Positano with ease. The rooms are beautiful and clean - we had a private terrace. The breakfast was the best we had throughout Italy. Raffaela is an exceptional person and chef!
The location is amazing, it’s easy to access ferries and we think Sorrento is the perfect base for this part of Italy. The accommodation feels very personal and the detail in everything is brilliant. The bed was by far the most comfortable we have had on our travels, the room is cleaned daily, it’s relaxing and the breakfast is a great way to start the day.
Hotel Il Faro was our favorite stay in Italy! The entire staff was welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and had many options, the location is convenient and close to the sea, and our room was clean and spacious with a beautiful balcony view of the sea! We will definitely be returning here if we visit Sorrento again.
This location is conveniently located in the heart of Sorrento. The hosts were very accommodating and gave us a list of recommendations upon arrival. They were also very responsive to questions and check-in. The beds were more comfortable than most places I have stayed in Italy. We will gladly stay again on our next visit.
a beautiful boutique hotel in a stunning private location. felt very traditionally Italy. hosts were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you and were in no way over bearing. free shuttle down to Sorrento town was super useful and many more money to spend if the delicious local food. a trues amazing experience
The most beautiful place one could imagine. Green garden, comfortable sundeck, elegant room, breathtaking view of Sorrento, blue of the bay, hospitable owners… score 11 out of 10, probably one of the best places to stay during our several week travel through Italy.
Great location, especially if coming by car. 10 mins walk to the center of town. The linens were the best I've had in italy and the size of the room was amazing, especially for 3 people. Truly outstanding. 15 min walk to the port to take all ferries. .
Best location in Sorrento. This is also the best place you will find. The rooms are amazing, very modern and beautiful. The best place we stayed in all of Italy. The host Sylvie was very nice and helped us with everything we needed.
This hotel was perfect for us! Last minute stays. Total 6 days out of our 12 days in Italy. The staff could not have been more helpful. They handle everything for you.
