Positano is incredible. One of the most beautiful places we have ever been. There is a lot of climbing to be done as the town is built into the hillside. It would be difficult for people who have mobility issues.

Northern Italy is where to go for the food.
Northern Italy is where to go for the food. This is the place for the views, area specific shops, hiking and rest. Lots of stairs if you walk. But there are taxis, parking garages and local bus routes if needed. Positano is way less touristy than Amalfi.

Positano is like living out of a post card. It has a magical and peaceful vibe. Every picture you see is exactly what you will experience. One thing to note is you will walk a lot and there is lot of hills and stairs. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming.

Positano is definitely great for the traveler who is interested in taking gorgeous photos and picturesque views. It is also great for exercise as there is no shortage of stairs and walking trails to get from place to place. The town of Positano is quite small and very walkable from one end to the other and getting to other towns on the Amalfi Coast is very easy using the ferry. However, the Amalfi Coast in general is very expensive and overall the food scene is quite mediocre. The best meals we had were at Mediterraneo and Lo Guarrancino. Also the fried squash blossoms at Cafe Positano were surprisingly very good. Everywhere else we ate in Positano was just okay or bad. My stay was 5 days but I would recommend no more than 3 days for future travelers.

Stunning views unlike any other place.
Stunning views unlike any other place. Definitely recommend Positano as a base for your Amalfi vacation as it is in the center of everything and make other excursions easily accessible and so fun to explore after the day trippers are gone.

The beauty of the town is unreal, but it is built on steep hillsides which means that narrow roads and switch backs are not recommended for the unseasoned driver not used to such terrain. If you're not in shape when you get there, you will be by time you leave. There are many, many, many steps and paths around the town. It's very picturesque but also very demanding physically. Probably not the best town for the elderly or those with physical challenges. Taxi's are the best mode of transportation though there is a good local bus system however, busses only come by hourly, and because of the congrestion they are rarely on time.
We loved everything about Villa Magia. The concierge went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, arranging transport and luggage pickup, making lunch and dinner reservations, and all around ensuring we had a great stay. The facilities are great and the view from the main terrace is the best in Positano in our opinion. We liked that the hotel was accessible to the center but not right in the middle of the crowds, and our stay felt very relaxing. Also highly recommend their terrace restaurant Luna, excellent menu and again great service.
The breakfast was wonderful and there were plenty of options to eat. There is a nice view of the ocean. The staff and owners of the property were very friendly and were very nice to my husband while we were away at our hike. The room had all the basic needs. There is only 1 road going in an out of Positano and in areas only goes one way. If you have walking issues you are best to stay at one of the hotels on the main road. My husband found it very difficult because of all the step and this hotel is not on the major road.
Cada Pietro is a place to be in Positano, it’s really well located just beside the main road( which is the best way to get to town and avoid the hundred and hundred steps ) nice restaurants close by ( at main road). The place was so clean, spotlessly. The owners are so welcoming and helpful and the bed and shower was the best I got during my trip to the Almafi Coast/ Capri. Great value for money! Literally a 5 star guest house !
Hotel Poseidon has a prime location in the heart of Positano, offering stunning views of the Amalfi Coast and easy access to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas. The staff at Hotel Poseidon are friendly, professional, and attentive, providing personalized service and helpful recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area.
The breakfasts were superb. Warm Croissants. Fresh local fruit. Cappuccino. Expresso. Yogurt. And a large choice of other options. Delivered to our room at our choice of time and eaten on an outdoor terrazzo overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and an incredible view of Positano. Outstanding customer service including arranging for a massage in our room and for our luggage to get to the ferry. 5 Stars!
we stayed at Villa Mary as the first stop to our honeymoon. and wow!! The views were amazing and breakfast was served every morning on our private patio. It was me and my wife’s first time in Positano and we absolutely loved this boutique hotel. Tiziana knows all about the city so what ever you need she’s got you! It’s a nice walk to all of the shopping and beach.
Andrea was a great host; he attended with all of our needs; give us suggestions during our stay and recommendations on transport going back; the hotel is awesome; as advertised; very clean; accessible to all places beach and restaurants in Positano; wi-fi is great no issues; we had a awesome time during our stay and would book the same hotel when we go back;
This hotel was one of our favorites during our stay in Italy. Daniella and Carmela provided exceptional service and made our stay more enjoyable. We were upgraded on our first night to room 210 and the room was AMAZING. Best views we had our entire trip. We plan to stay here again when we go back, and we will definitely recommend it to everyone!
All the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They did their best to make sure your requests were met and that your experience was an enjoyable one. There are 70+ steep steps into the Hotel but well worth the climb to enjoy the views. You can best enjoy the views over breakfast on the terrace overlooking Positano and the coast.
Beautiful family run hotel, this is what Italian dreams are made of. We had the best time on our honeymoon. It was fabulous to stay a bit out of Positano, the beach down the stairs was a slice of heaven. We also had dinner on top of the hill, which was the best meal of our lives, at Fattoria La Tagliata. Book now you won’t regret!!
The hotel was so beautiful, the staff was so sweet and helpful. Also, the breakfast was our favourite in the entire 2 weeks in Italy. The hotel is located a 5min drive or 20min walk to center of Positano but they have free shuttle service so it was super convenient!
Highly recommend this beautiful spot :)
The view was breath taking! The breakfast area overlooks all of Positano- great for photos! There are also two other rooftop decks for beautiful sunset photos. The brunch was exceptional and the service was 5 star! We were very happy with our choice of hotel and it was our favorite of our whole trip.
The views are exceptional! Tess was amazing! She provided some of the best breakfast I’ve had with staying at hotels. She arranged the porters for the luggage and the transportation to the villa! 5 stars and definitely will be back.
Salvatore, Chiara, and the rest of the hotel staff were so exceptional. they helped us coordinate all of our reservations , plans at the beach, and driver. best location in all of Positano.
Location of the hotel is the best, right next to the main beach Positano Spiaggia and the main street. View from the restaurant terrace was amazing and and breakfast was very good.
Without any doubt best place to stay in Positano, the stunning , the delicious breakfast, the warm hospitality.
I would recommend without any doubt this family owned hotel.
