I wish we could have stayed longer! Giovanni and his family were so lovely. Giovanni helped us as soon as we arrived including tips to find a secluded beach and even arranged for shuttle service to an amazing restaurant (even got us in at short notice even though booking was recommended) and we had a fantastic continential breakfast each morning. And wow, what a view from our room! The character of this hotel and superb hospitality, I really can't wait to go back ! Make sure to book the shuttle (message Giovanni) when you expect to arrive or take the bus as the walk, whilst only 40 minutes from the Positano main beach, feels quite far when it's super hot and you're dragging your luggage!
Featuring a free private beach, reachable by lift, Hotel Le Agavi offers views of the Amalfi Coast, an outdoor heated pool, and 2 restaurants.

Our room offered the most breathtaking view of Positano. The location was ideal, and the breakfast and dinner at the hotel was excellent. The interiors and aesthetics were stunning. We would definitely stay here again!

Reminded me of St Ives in Cornwall without the beaches.
Reminded me of St Ives in Cornwall without the beaches. Overcrowded with predominantly American tourists. This was reflected in the prices of everything from food to clothing. Sorrento half the price and much less crowded. Literally shuffling along the streets. Museum is excellent if you can find the ticket office (in the tourist info point behind the ceramic shop at the bottom of the stairs to the cathedral). Some amazing art galleries. Beaches are difficult to access unless you are staying at the bottom of the stairs. Not suitable for those with limited mobility / fitness. Very steep as is most of the Amalfi coast to be fair. Lovely local people.

If you are considering an Amalfi coast trip , I would book a tour where all transport is pre organised.
Buses are crowded and the queues are diabolical.
Trip to Capri was just as hectic .( Give yourself plenty of time on the island for lining up .) Most time is spent negotiating the public transport system.

The tourism is what makes Positano have a heart beat yet the locals treat tourists with such disrespect.
“if you don’t accept 40euro to be driven 5min up the mountain to your hotel, the next tourist will” and they are proud of this.
The quality and standard of food and beverages is also uninspiring. They don’t put love into it and don’t care but will charge you a kidney for it. Think twice before choosing to stay in Positano. Beautiful to see but to commute up and down the Clyde is almost impossible without a car/scooter and you will pay through the nose doing so!
Locals suggest staying in Sorrento for accessibility and affordability purposes

We loved Positano.
We loved Positano. Even during the peak season, It was relaxing and very enjoyable to have local food and see the boutique shops. We spent one day at and that was also beautiful with the views. Everyone was very friendly and kind. Lots of smoking, but that’s Italy in general.

We loved everything about Positano!
We loved everything about Positano! The views, the people, the food, the shopping, the full day boat tours! Our accommodations were to die for, as well as the host and his family restaurant where we ate twice!
Our stay was exceptional. Maria and her family were wonderful hosts. They sorted parking at a facility below the hotel and we were met by Maria’s partner to pick up our bags and carry them up to the hotel for us! Maria was so welcoming, kind and truly lovely, we felt so welcomed. I had the best night sleep with such a comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing on the Terrance with so much selection and lovely coffee. I would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Positano - a lovely family and beautiful spot.
The location is right on the beach, bit further back from the water and the room itself was beautiful. The ferry is the best way to arrive and you can see the hotel as you pull up. They have deck chairs outside of the hotel free of use, but the chairs across the path at the front belong to the beach club and cost €35. Rosa was a great host and always checked on us!
Top class hotel, top class facilities. top class staff who have passion for their work, made us feel so welcome and warm.
Oh, and how special is that tennis court.
Thank you very much Il San Pietro staff for making us feel welcome and arranging everything for us.
This is THE best hotel not only in Amalfi coast, but along all coasts of Mainland Italy.
This is the best property in the whole of Positano. The view is unbelievable and unbeatable - it beats any of the hotels. It's very clean, large and has all the amenities you need. The host, Gabriele, made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend, especially for couples!
