The host, Gianni met us in the local piazza and accompanied us to our home. The reason we chose this house is because it is in the same village where my husband's cousins live. This home was freshly renovated in impeccable design. The host also surprised us with an abundance of products from his farm, including; peppers, marmalade, spices, and more.

Breakfast was rather ordinary (a selection of wrapped cakes and croissants, no fruit or cereal), and one had to make hot drinks oneself, but it was OK. We liked the site, overlooking a peaceful valley, and the friendly welcome.

The location is nicely tucked away for the peace one looks for, I left early in the am, but the staff was nice enough to load me up with some fruits and juices the night before knowing of my early departure...... the titolares were great and boy can mama whip up a great meal traditional Italian Fair. You will need a car to drive to the closest town of Cusano Mutri but they do have buses that run 1-2 times per day, not on weekends. This is the town were they excavated the fossil of a baby T-Rex, but the museum was closed on the weekend. NO bars or restaurants were open on ANY day. The scenery at the top of the mountain and the visits with family were PRICELESS.
