Ortisei is a gorgeous town nestled in a valley and surrounded by the beautiful Dolomites. It offers a number of easy and also more difficult hiking trails. The gondola to Alpe de Siusi, which is a meadow plateau is there and there are fantastic walking trails and scenery.

Ortiesi is a delightful town with plenty going on.
Ortiesi is a delightful town with plenty going on. We stayed there 5 nights and didn't find a bad restaurant - far from it, I think we managed to attend some of the top rated sites on Trip Adviser, but they were not excessively proved and all were excellent.
The town is impressively clean and there are plenty of walks/hikes that can be undertaken without the need to drive.
I would definitely visit Ortisei again.

Ortisei is the perfect place to enjoy the Dolomites. You can enjoy both the Seceda and the Alpe di Siusi at the same time, and in the summer, with the Summer Pass, you can make the most of the hiking in the area.

Beds were comfy, breakfasts were really great! We took up the option of using the local pool 1 afternoon after a hike- would definitely recommend this- lovely outdoor pools- really nice way to relax. Hotel is in a great location, approximately 5 minute walk from most places in Ortisei (lifts, restaurants, supermarket). If you can we would probably recommend spending a bit more and having access to a balcony, we didn't but with hindsight probably would have used it.
Our hosts were absolutely lovely - helpful, friendly and looked after us so well, the B & B was in a very quiet area a short, steep walk up from town with loads of places to eat. The area was incredibly beautiful and all the ski lifts were in operation. We had amazing walks and all the hiking up and down the trails delivered the most breathtaking views. We literally loved everything about our stay in Ortisei.
The location is very nice although you probably won’t walk to the Ortisei town center. The apartment itself is brand new, very tastefully and luxuriously furnished. Very stylish. Also impeccably clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. The washer and the dryer are available in the ski room. The owners are very nice couple and we enjoyed meeting them.
We loved how easy it was to find, the free parking, free bus pass with stop nearby and free entry to the fabulous pool. Ortisei is gorgeous and the hotel had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and hot shower!
Friendly staff and.lovely bar to enjoy a beer after a day on the hills.
Quiet, comfortable Gasthaus, with home cooked traditional food (great Schnitzel).
Beautiful location with amazing view of the Dolomite mountain Sassolungo.
Bus service into Ortisei, near to the cablecar (frequent in the morning and evening) make it a convenient quiet location to stay for a ski trip.
