FAQs about hotels in Naples

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and funicular railways. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of visitable tunnels and even a Graeco-Roman theatre which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artefacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

As for accommodation, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city centre apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.

Naples has a lot of history, and we were in the historic center of Naples. After reading all the stories online of pick pockets and crime, we were skeptical, but took care of our belongings(backpack in front, keep hands in pocket at busy places) but it was all good. So much to see depending on choices. We did Pompeii a must see and took ferry to Amalfi for a day trip which is also a must see. Pizza at Sorbillo and oldest pizza place in world Antica pizzeria Port'Alba also must do things. Walking is easy and Uber app works , they have tie up with local taxis.

Liked - plenty of restaurant options on the Saturday night we were there, plus easy metro transport from the ferry terminal to central railway station when transiting from Amalfi. Disliked - don’t know what the city tax is spent on because the streets were filthy everywhere we went; plus pick-pocketers were in action on the Saturday night. Avoid crowded metro stations.

A FANTASTIC experience!! Very clean hotel in a quiet neighborhood in Naples. By far the most helpful hotel staff that we have ever encountered on any travels. They provided tips on what to see, how to navigate around the city, helped organize an early morning airport pickup for us, and even helped us to order pizza from a nearby restaurant. They made great recommendations for dinner as well! The room was spacious, very clean, and the largest shower we found in Italy (with great water pressure).

If you want to feel the real Naples, you have to stay at this place. 2 minutes away from the main street, but enough of a walk to feel and hear the real Italy. People cheering at a football game, a wife shouting at her husband and people navigating the narrow streets on scooters. It’s amazing! The host was magnificent too. He’s ready to help at any time with everything. Thanks for everything and we’re definitely staying there when coming back to Naples!

Nice hotel to spent some time in Naples a little bit like a local. It's situated in a good neiborhood, on an authentic street. You must open few doors to get into your room and there are apartments of the locals around. The room was big and nice. And the view from the terrace was extraordinary. Breakfast is typical for Italy, coffee and croissant. It's tasty and situated in Pasticceria near by. You can feel the real vibe of the city here.

I love the location here. It is very close to the Spanish quarter which is a good place for a meal at night time. The hotel gives you very clear instructions on how to reach them before arrival (they include pictures). It's not always easy to find your hotel in Italy so this was extremely helpful. Tomb itself was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was impressive! As was the breakfast which is served to you in your room.

The property is brand new, very well appointed, and in a great part of Naples, close to the seashore, the Metro, and good restaurants. Our hosts were very kind and accommodating, helping us park our car( oh Italy!) and giving us suggestions for restaurants and how to make our way around Naples. Communication was quick. Great location next to the central train station for further travelling by train (e.g. to Paestum), easily accesible by bus from the airport, nice staff, surprisingly rich and very good breakfast offering not only Italian sweet pastries but also some "salty" options (which is not typical for this type of hotel in Italy so the breakfast exceeded my expectations).
