Great location. Andrea was a wealth of knowledge and had a downloadable drive with information galore about the Cinque Terre. The room was adequate although very small. Bathroom also very small. The walls also paper thin and can hear most things the next room we’re doing. Location was top notch about 15 min walk from train station and 3 min walk to the boat harbour.

The staff were great and the position was fantastic
I loved everything about this place. The people were really nice, the food was amazing and it was the only place in cinque terre to have an accessible beach and it was built on a plain so it was easy to carry a suitcase and to walk around (which I believe would be hard in other places in cinque terre because it was all on mountains). I would 100% travel to this place again but I hope next time the weather would be better (it was raining when I left and when I got there it was cloudy) I was traveling late June and will recommend coming in July but it would probably be way more crowded , but warm weather is important for this stay.

Is a great village to stay in Cinque Terre, it’s mostly flat with good beaches. The village has lots of restaurant options, cafes and bars. Easy to catch the train or ferry to the other villages. Would definitely recommend staying in Monterosso al Mare. Would also recommend staying at Villa Assini.

Monterosso was the pick of Cinque for us.
Monterosso was the pick of Cinque for us. It’s very pretty, with clean streets and being flatter than the other villages has more spacious areas - so not so crowded. If you have heavy luggage there are many options of accommodation without dragging those cases uphill or up countless stairs. Lots of cafes and little shops and very nice beaches. The 5 Villages walk starts from here. It’s well worth doing at least some of the walk if you can as you can just get the train back or to the other villages if you opt out of ealking.

Beautiful place very good for reaching all the other cinque terra villages. Has a lovely beach front and a charming old town. Excellent train connection and reasonable boat trips too. Perfect holiday destination whatever you want to do. Walk the trails, lie on the beach. Visit local area by train and you certainly must try the ice cream in each town you visit.

The most amazing relaxing place to visit. Would highly recommend to anyone considering visiting to just do, you won’t regret it. Of all the Cinque Terra villages it’s definitely the best followed by Vernezza.

The hotel is really lovely and the views are unparalleled! Amazing views over the beach and Cinque Terre. The staff were very helpful and even helped us reserve a table at a restaurant. The garden area with chairs and loungers overlooking the view is gorgeous and a perfect place to enjoy an Aperol from the bar whilst waiting for the shuttle or after you've returned home in the evening. The shuttle bus service is so easy to use and always on time - you just have to be a little more organized than you usually would!
- Perfect location to visit Cinque Terre, easy to reach from the parking and also from the station
- Lovely room with balcony: bathroom was recently renovated and clean, room was spacious, balcony view was beautiful, the whole place is just super nice, they also have a lovely terrace at the entrance
- Service is great, all the ladies at the reception were amazing! Not common to find such good service in Italy (I’m Italian), everyone was very professional. Also the home-made breakfast was delicious.
It is directly on the beach. You can rent your umbrella & chair set up for about €40. The beach bar is 50yards from the set up, reasonably priced food & drinks. We stayed in 2 different rooms, obviously the oceanfront was much better. The furnishings are dated but this is typical of the area. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is about 100yards from the train station. It’s a little pricier from what you get but totally worth it in Monterossa because of the location.
Even though there is no breakfast included, Federica still prepared bread and drinks in the morning which is really so nice of her! There's also free drinks on the mini bar in the room.
The room was big and the bed was so comfy. I should also mention that the interior of the room was great! Location is superb, just steps away from everything.
They also provided beach towels which is really good because being a beach bum, I can't resist swimming on the beach.
This was one of our favourite hotels of our trip! It was a reasonably simple room, although the beds were the most comfortable ones we had stayed in and the only hotel who provided enough pillows! The location was also great, we were right in the middle of the old town in Monterosso, however the room was perfectly quiet and you couldn't hear anything from outside. The owners were very friendly and the room was cleaned perfectly each day.
Location in Old Town was great. Hotel had an elevator, internet and great water pressure in shower. The included breakfast, on the terrace, was fabulous. A lot of tasty food to choose from. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I brought my own converter so I don't know if they provide one if you ask. Monterosso is a great base to stay in for the Cinque Terre. I will stay at Hotel again if I go back.
Great value for money! Andrea was so warm and helpful, he always tried his best to give great recommendations! Monterosso is a brilliant town to stay in to explore Cinque Terre as it is bigger with more to do and less crammed crowds but still close to station and boat tours. The hotel is basic but very reasonably priced so we were happy! Even a fridge etc in the room which we weren’t expecting
The location was in clean, more quiet spot in Monterosso, which, after visiting a few of the other towns, agreed was the best location in the Cinque Terre. The staff was thoughtful and kind. They let us keep our luggage at the hotel while we toured the area. The breakfast was plentiful and quite good, especially the artisan tarts. Our room for 4 people was a good size and was very clean.
Room is beautiful and super clean (mine had a view to the street). Breakfast is lovely, and from the breakfast room you can see the sea and the castle. Gabriel who runs the hotel is super nice and attentive and gives great tips for the experience in Monterosso. The location is great because you are parallel to the main streets of the town, very close to the sea.
The wife and I loved our 5 night stay at Hotel Cinque Terre. The staff are incredible and work hard to ensure a wonderful stay. If you are thinking about visiting the Cinque Terre region, I would absolutely recommend Monterosso and this hotel... easy access to and from the train station and a perfect base to explore this beautiful area.
We loved this hotel! I don’t think we could have found a better location in all of Cinque Terre. We so enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and listening to the waves and people watching. Breakfast each day was delicious and our server, Margarita, was so friendly, my kids wanted to bring her home with us!
Wonderful hotel with a perfect location within walking distance from the station, the beach, feries/boats and the hiking paths. Room was very clean and comfortable. Nice balcony. The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace with an amazing view of Monterosso. Luxurious breakfast.
The staff in general went above and beyond to make us comfortable and to assist us. The hotel is clean and in a perfect location right near the beach and the train station in Monterosso, which in our opinion is the best town in Cinque Terre. The breakfast was good and.
The location is INSANE. right on the beach. perfect if you want to go to cinque terre but you don’t want to shell out thousands of dollars. great for a couple. and the air conditioner is STRONG!!!!!!!!! the staff at the front are so amazingly kind.
We had a lovely week at Hotel Margherita, perfect location in Monterosso, amazing staff, quiet room. Really liked the balcony for our room. Would definitely recommend!
