This impressive hotel boasts an enviable location, overlooking Lake Como and just 100 metres from the pedestrian centre of Menaggio. Admire the view across the lake to Bellagio and Varenna.

The location is great, in the heart of Menaggio and right on the water with great views. We loved the rooftop pool, looking out over the lake whilst taking a refreshing dip was the perfect thing to do after a day of sight seeing in the heat of summer. Our room was a really good size and comfortable. We would stay there again.

Not overrun by tourists. No kitchy tourist shops. Wonderful restaurants - La Grolla for the best fish and shellfish. IL Gabbiano for drinks and Gelato.
Bar Picadilly where locals meet.
A laid back atmosphere that made an enjoyable, relaxed vacation.
Traffic congestion is a problem and tough to park - easy to walk the town and waterfront though.

Convenient for exploring the area, and ferry trips to visit across the Lake. I did use the local bus service whilst there but having transport of your own would be preferable. Amazing views and selection of accommodation options.
Used the local supermarket, Conad City for provisions just remember they close in the middle of the day.

Very nice little town with great waterfront but extremely crowded (early August)
Good spot for cruising over Como lake - easy access to other cities via ferries.
No real access to the lake for a swimming lovers, you got to leave menaggio and go 5-10 km to other smaller places

Plan ahead, it's super busy in July/August so it can take time to get around. Beautiful place, with lots to see and do, so planning of your itinery is essential. Use the ferries to get around, and see the sights, parking is pretty good at the ferry terminals but you do need cash in most cases or a random app which was pretty unreliable. If you are eating out go to one of the smaller towns on the lake as you get a lot better value for money and they tend to be quieter. Menaggio itself is a lovely town, with lots of nice shops and restaurants, and it's got a really nice atmosphere in the evening. Don't expect super late nights though..

A wonderful town right on the edge of the lake, with many restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy.
I would suggest renting a boat and doing a self drive tour. It's not cheap but it was an amazing experience. I would also suggest going to the expensive hotels for coffees if you can't stay there yourself. You can sit on the water front and enjoy a coffee even if you're not a guest.
Don't eat at the places on the water front as a general rule. They are touristy and expensive.

Beautiful small town easily reached by either ferry, bus,or car .. The main square has a vibrant vibe with fabulous lake views and some nice restaurants and cafes . Hotel du lac is ideally situated in the square .
We had a lovely stay at this b&b! The property is located in a very calm and peaceful area. Nights were quiet for us, with no disturbances from the neighbours. It’s easily accessible by car and we were able to park in front of the rooms, which was a big plus for us. The highlight is definitely the beautiful view on lake Como, offering a picturesque and relaxing setting. The owner was very helpful and accommodating, even allowing us to check in a bit later than scheduled in the evening with no issues, which we really appreciated.
Beautifully appointed, clean and centrally sited apartment close to all amenities. Menaggio is a relaxed and charming place away from the busier hubs in Lake Como and this apartment is highly recommended as a base. We stayed 6 nights and used the ferry to visit many sights around the Lake. Alberto the apartment host was delightful and always available for any problems ( of which there were none) and pointed us to good restaurants and local places of interest.
Great waterfront location, comfortable room, good service. Especialy when you consider value for money and Menaggio is great spot to stay in and start your journeys from. Dont worry about leaving car keys at reception, its normal in Italy when there isn’t enoght parking spaces. We hope to come back again
We are on a two week tour of Lake Como, staying at out 4th hotel, and Loveno was the best. The hike up the hill is well worth it! The breakfasts were perfect, room size was excellent and the staff remarkable. Views are truly amazing.
