We liked the beautiful setting in the tuscan countryside, the magnificent views, the cool and comfortable room, the swimming pool and breakfast. The only slight negative was the unpaved and tortuous road leading to la Rimbecca. But then Greve in Chianti has many roads like this!
Hotel Giovanni da Verrazzano overlooks the main square of Greve in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region. It features a restaurant with terrace and free Wi-Fi.

Lovely bustling square where the hotel was and the restaurant attached to the hotel was very good.

The location was fantastic, providing good hiking. Our hosts were delightful and provided us with information to help us get the most out of our stay. They made special provision for us with gluten-free food, including a special home-made chocolate cake. Both of our hosts spoke English well and their enthusiasm for all aspects of pur stay was a delight.

Where do I begin? I told Michele (Staff) it was one of the best weekends of my life because honestly La Pietra was a dream! The views are unparalleled (we visited other places and also dined in other relais, and maintain that La Pietra’s views were superior). On arrival we got an upgrade and a bottle of their wine waiting for us, we were also given an extra treat as we were celebrating my partner’s birthday. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and our dinner at the restaurant was Michelin standard - fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of experimentation and simplicity. The pool is a must - with the heating adjusted to ambient temp it was a true luxury. I could go on but I will end with a note on their wine - try as many as you can! Grazie Mille Michele for your fantastic hospitality and Matteo for all your help with us making the most of our stay. We will be back 😊

The countryside is lovely.
Grieve is a good base from which to explore Chianti.
There is also a good public bus to Greve from Florence - only €5.00 each but you have to buy and validate the ticket on-line.

Wonderful property, wonderful people and accommodations.
Wonderful property, wonderful people and accommodations. The only criticism I have is if you plan on having dinner at the hotel inquire about the price as we were quite surprised by what was charged for dinner, a very, very pricey.

Beautiful countryside, easy to get around. Lots of little places to discover in the area and beautiful buildings, wineries, restaurants etc. All excellent quality and not outrageously priced. Perfect place to stop between Florence and Rome.

This is a small yet charming Tuscan town.
This is a small yet charming Tuscan town. The surrounding countryside is simply stunning. We enjoyed using Greve as our homebase for a few days as we explored this area of Tuscany. It is well situated to visit Siena and San Gimignano for a day trip. There are several lovely All-Trails hikes in the area as well as local wineries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Restaurants were all good, and wine delicious and inexpensive. You definitely need a car; there are free parking spots as well as paid (6 Euro/24 hrs).

The biggest town in the area with restaurants, a supermarket, local shops and weekly market. The tourist office were very helpful. lots of wineries to visit locally and, of course, the beautiful countryside. We, also, went into Florence and Pisa on day trips.

Views were remarkable! Completely idyllic setting, overlooking vineyards and Chianti landscape as far as you can see. Set on the ridge of a mountain and gorgeous. Breakfast was wonderful, thoughtfully presented, and delicious. Staff was top notch! We love Beatrice! Wine tasting has the most unique setting of any tasting we did in Italy, France, or the USA. Last but not least, the gardener is doing their job: flowers were in bloom all over, well kept, and overall a visually pleasing place anywhere you look.
First of all from the moment of booking Olga was very good answering all my questions and helping us out. We arrived to warm welcome and a wee tour of the grounds and our apartment. Olga couldn't do enough for you soooooo helpful and kind. Pictures don't do place justice it's breathtaking. It's rustic, atmospheric and beautiful and outside you are sitting in the pool and birds are singing around you. Beautiful gardens and landscape of Tuscany. Could not recomend Íl Cascino enough. WE WILL BE BACK :)
I celebrated my 30th birthday. I couldn't ask for more than that. The place was perfect! Amazing view! Stunning and caring staff who brought us a bottle of champagne as a gift. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant - it was the best meal we ate on the trip (better than the Michelin restaurant we ate at).
A delicious breakfast that includes croissants, eggs, fresh fruit and more. Adjacent and convenient parking.
The best place I've been in the whole world, highly recommended!!!
Absolutely beautiful apartment in an old building in the center of Montefioralle, a beautiful village near Greve in Chianti. Greve is in walking distance. The kitchen has everything you need. The landlord kindly provided snacks and drinks, so we could have a small meal, before we went to the supermarket. A few hundred meters away, there is a beautiful place for wine tasting. The best is the beautiful terrace with a stunning view to the environment.
What a place!!! La Veronica is nestled in the heart of the chianti region, the rolling hills surrounding the property are breathtaking!! We had one of the cheaper rooms but it was still more than adequate, a great sized bedroom and larger than usual bathroom all finished very nicely and well equipped. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. We also had food there one evening which was some of the best we had in Italy! Thanks Roberta!!
It's surprisingly easy to access the town centre from Casa Grazia and there was plenty of parking out front, a rare bonus in Italy so far. No stairs either so moving luggage was a breeze.
We were met on site by the owner who responded immediately to everything we needed for our 7 day stay.
We even got to see a local soccer match from our back balcony that overlooks much of the stadium area.
A very pleasant stay in a lovely Tuscan town.
Unique ancient building so layout of apartment was naturally a little quirky. we loved our stay, Montefioralle was tiny and gorgeous and the views were all you dreamed of Tuscany. Enjoyed doing a wine tasting with our helpful host who helped with bags and runs a small wine business down stairs. Short drive to Greve which had the most amazing delicatessen/general supplies shop. Good kitchen set up.
The location of the hotel is exceptional for walking around Greve and biking to nearby towns. There was a safe space to store my bike. Even though the owner took the key when I would leave, he waited up for me each night. Felt unsafe, but then safe? Kind of strange, but that is how they run the place. Wifi strong enough for me to get a few hours of remote work in during the day too.
Amazing views of vineyards, staff is super kind, rooms are very spacious and breakfast is tasty. The b&b is on a small village 5 min by car to greve in Chianti, and on a 2 min walk you can find the best restaurant I went to during my month in Tuscany and a local vineyard to visit. Honestly couldn’t ask for a more relaxing place to be. Highly recommend!
Staying at Viticcio was our favorite stop of our whole Italy trip. It was so relaxing and felt like a countryside getaway on a vineyard. The pool and barbecue area was so nice to have access to -- we got groceries from Coop down in the town and had our own grill out! The winery tour at Viticcio was fantastic and the rooms were so spacious.
The property is exquisite and beautifully maintained with pride of ownership.
The rooms are newly renovated, clean and very comfortable.
Anna treated us like family. The breakfast was awesome with home cooked goodies.
We would definitely stay here again!
Thank you Anna for a memorable stay in Tuscany!
It made our trip - truly the best place we stayed. Definitely suits people who enjoy and appreciate the outdoors, due to the rural location. We congratulate our hosts for their genuine hospitality, advice and the work they have done to restore the building to a top standard.
If you visit Tuscany and decide to stay in the Chianti area there's no need to look far, choose Agriturismo La Sala. My wife and I absolutely loved it. Anastasiya is a wonderful host. can't ask for more. Thanks for the enjoyable time. Highly recommended. Sonia e Francesco
The location of the hotel is excellent with popular restaurants and villages nearby. The staff were really helpful with any questions we had including helping to make restaurant reservations. We strongly recommend staying here if you have the chance!
Super clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful terrace with a view and kind owners; we absolutely loved everything. I totally recommend for a cute trip in the heart of tuscany. Its easy to reach to the wine tastings nearby.
Beautiful property very close to Greve in Chianti. Nice amenities. The pool area is nice and big with shaded areas for lounging. Wine is good and staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
